See, I support a full infantry respec.
I support it due to how much is being changed, not because of things being added. Unlike mainline infantry on here, I know it's important to have 100% of your SP be put towards your chosen role, in my case tanking.
But infantry didn't support a full respec for us tankers. I don't think we'll ever know why. See, we had our role, and that was as a pilot, whether it was a skilled-up LAV, HAV, DS, or a combination of them. We put our SP into them, filled up the trees, and then finally finished them.
But we had a problem that wasn't really a problem: what do we do with all this unused SP?
Answer? Go infantry. It's more versatile, and a hell of a lot cheaper than tanking all the time. There's roles to fill, and suits to pick, and weapons to choose.
Now CCP is basically doing to infantry what they've already done to tanks. They're changing most things. Some of those things being changed will probably be the rail and combat rifles. Those rifles at STD level shred my ADV Gal Logi, up close in the case of the combat rifle, and far away in the case of the rail rifle. I support a nerf to those. They're insanely powerful at STD level, and only get better as you advance in tiers.
Bonuses are being changed for all races and types of suits, plus all the equipment, sans the injectors.
More commando / sentinel and light / scout suits are being added. All of their bonuses are changing. The bonuses on the assault and logi suits are being changed. Equipment is getting a concurrent nerf, which is something I expected, and am surprised to see most of the infantry on here complaining about it.
I'm a tanker and I support a full infantry respec. That's more than I can say for most of the forums when vehicles were on the chopping block.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

Playstyles and entire fittings need to change for 1.8.

Severance Pay wrote:Infantry didn't support a respec for tankers because infantry fought for equal rights to respecs. When they cry for respecs they cry for everyone. Also, we already got our respecs. At this point, they are so unnecessary because since everything is under continuous rebalance and updates what you want will change a week after a respec is approved. Also, it's not like the skill points are lost or you can simply skill into it later. People are just so impatient that they don't want to always have to work their way back up. Everyone wants to work their way up to endgame once and let that be the end of it so they can quit the game and move on from boredom. But see, our entire way of playing was changing, and since to fully spec everything in vehicles, we need 60mil SP. Nobody is anywhere close to achieving that. Plus they added a ton of turret skills, and those take up a lot of SP. With fitting requirements reduced as much as possible, better fittings can be made. I want rail and blaster optimization to 5. That's the first thing I'd do with extra SP back in my unallocated pool. Then if we're getting new hulls and / or turrets, I'd hold on to it for those, so I can laugh like a maniac as I melt infantry with a giant laser.
Infantry had no logical reason that us pilots shouldn't've had all our SP back in our unallocated pool, so we could maximize our chosen style of play.

If CCP wasn't changing vehicles, there wouldn't be any reason to get that 2 mil back.
I am piling you all into one category, because none of you supported one. Few supported a full respec for us, and a general consensus was reached with most of the forums that respecing vehicle SP was the right thing to do. There was even a small minority that said SP shouldn't be put back into the unallocated pool.
Police your own, then I'll stop assuming and grouping everyone.
Like I said, I'm a tanker and I support a full infantry respec because most everything about it is going to change. Odds are, it's going to happen.

So your cool with nerfing weapons you dont use cause they hurt your adv suit, but you ***** and moan when people want a nerf against MLT HAV weapons that shred Proto suits? ah ok... Funny thing is, if we get a full respec am speccing into HAV, not only is it easy mode (been messing around with them the past few days since infrantry AV is all but dead) but is a good way to earn ridiculously easy isk. Id even go as far and say the only reason not everybody is driving HAV is because they are too set in their ways and would rather cry nerf! Infantry called the pilot suit OP before we knew if it had module slots, even though they weren't going to use it.
How would you know if I do or do not have access to the combat and / or rail rifle?
I complain because it's a tank. What good is a tank if it doesn't behave like one? I'm sure infantry would prefer them to be little more than troop transports with a small turret for limited defense, but when a MLT swarm comes out, watch out! That troop transport should be destroyed in 2 volleys, even if it has a few thousand HP.
You will be destroyed even if you spec into tanks. People like me rolling around do not allow red vehicles to exist. I can hit moving targets while moving. I can do it with rail.
So, confirm that you still want to spend more for tanks when there's people like me rolling around.
