Okay I have a lot of questions about this one, before I invite people to be in a corp with me I want to get a better idea of what I'm doing.
1. How do you set up chat channels and what's the difference between public and private chat channels? How do you make your channel one or the other?
2. How do you support a side in faction warfare? Do you tell your members this is who were supporting and only play for that side or what?
3. How do you get Eve support? I know what Eve is and basically how they work but still a little fuzzy on how to contact them and how exactly things work in Eve.
4. What's an alliance? Is that just where other guys say they'll help your corp? Is it some sort of cooperation between corporations?
5. How exactly does planetary conquest work? I've never been in a PC match I only have a very basic concept, it's basically fighting for territory right?
6. How many member can you have with the first corporation skill and what's the maximum? I'm assuming 10 is the first number since basic cooperation operation says +10 per level.
7. If this is the wrong section for this I apologize, please direct me to the right section.

1. On the right side menu where your normal chats are (notification, local, corp, etc) at the very bottom is a '+' sign. Click that to create your own chat. Give it a name and it will ask if you want it to be public or private. You can even password code it, but a private one is fairly common. You can then just click on your own channel and 'invite' people to join it. People you invite in your corp however, will automatically be added to the 'corp' channel already listed.
2. You choose. I'm team matari but my corp is mostly caldari. Not all corps are faction based. You'll see a lot of channels made specifically for each faction if you search the forums. That is a character by character choice thus far.
3. You find an EVE pilot channel. Eve pilots often have their own channels. Again, you should search out those on the forums who can send you an invite to your specific chosen faction. The pilots can chat and talk with us just like dust players. They'll ask for the location of the battle and see if they can jump to it in time for you to offer support.
4. An alliance is well...an alliance. It's made up of multiple corps. There are lots of singular corps out there but you'll often see large and small corps under one umbrella alliance. Alliances are fun when they're active. If done right, they provide leadership meetings that decide which other alliances we will work with and who we are at war with. They also plan attack/defense of certain planets. Having an alliance makes it easier to field enough players to attack/defend.
5. I have only participated and never organized one so someone else is going to have to take that one.
6. Again, would have to ask another CEO.
7. Right section.

It didn't ask if I wanted it public or private, I did see the password protect though.

If you put a password to your channel this would make it private, This is a good idea at times so that only Corp or invited members can join, also when corp members leave it can protect you from infiltration of Tactics PC moves etc etc. |
