How is it in our interest to attack them.
International relations 101. Realism: Nations do what is in their best interest. Is it in our interest to attack them? Unless they come for our districts and we need to defend our resources (isk) then sure. Otherwise they ain't attacking us, and currently we are happy with the districts we have and if we want more there are many other corps we can attack and get gains more easily.
By WE I do not mean Titans of Phoenix. I mean any of the corps you are asking to attack RA - what is our INCENTIVE. that they have more money and are more powerful? In International relations 'balance of power theory' has been proven false. Because there aren't any countries forming alliances against USA. Rather 'Balance of Threat theory' is more accurate. Is RA a threat to the corps you mentioned? Are they perceived to be threats to the corps and by the corps you mentioned?

So with that logic you only need enough people to fill up a PC match (16 is it?) and it is better to NOT show up or fight with less people than sub in someone who is B-team but available? |

They were examples of corps that may find this interesting and rewarding. There are others I could name. If TOP doesn't want any more land then just do it for he battles. The really challenging battles.
I do not represent TOP. I am not a leader. ALL I am saying is you would have better results if you give incentives. True incentives.
As for having better fights. Like eve, dust does mirror RL international relations. It is BORING. Unless players are goign to get a HIGH reward for the risk they take to unlock districts or starting a fight with a huge ass corp, they will not engage and keep the status quo. EVen if a corp is weak, but fine with the status quo then they will not attack.
Attacking a corp for FUN/good battles.
If one wishes to fight AE/RA for a good fight. It is better to have an agreement that one (or any number really) district will be unlocked and at the end no matter who owns it, it will be returned to original owner.
If you are complaining that we are lazy and Dust is no longer fun. That is CCP's fault for not fixing the exploit, OR making rewards so big that no one will wish to use the exploit. |

No, go away with your real world examples, they don't work here. Each section of the American Army/Navy/Air Forces are A trained military organizations, calling the others "B, C" team, when they operate completely differently, is absurd. Spec Ops especially.

If by A-Team you mean the substitute will also be A-team, then I agree w/you.
But if you mean ONLY these 16 players will ever be able to play and even if we have a substitute who is close to or equal in skill we will rather have an empty spot. Then that is kinda ridiculous.
However I think you mean the substitute would be A-team skills too.
In that case I 100% agree with you. |

I think your stuck on a conception that B is just barely weaker then A - that's never the case. B is B because they can't keep up with A - and "A" team is never just 16 people. The list to "A" can be as big as the amount of people you have that fit the bill. If he's close to your skill level - then he's fine to take. But if he's going to go -5kdr with 300 WP - then why did you bring this "B" team guy?
I completely agree. I understand you now.
Basically the substitute would be A-team level. If he is B-team skill level then he shouldn't even be in the corp. That is my opinion too.
Basically the guys on Standby are only on Standby because they did not que up fast enough. But they have the same skills as the people who did que up fast enough. I get ya. |

Just going to say this and it is about time. Fellow DUST community.......... I FREAKING CALLED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I knew this same exact BS was going to happen after the 2nd Eon war against the 1st FEC. People say we lost, people said we just quit after PS4 came. Whatever the case may be, I called this. When a power lose to another power, that winning power becomes stronger. But what happens when they become too strong? The community tries to rally to fight for freedom. One they win they try to do things differently but they end up doing the same thing they were fighting against. So why should this turn out differently?
It's balance of threat theory vs Balance of Power.
You believe people balance against power. In reality they balance against threat. In theory we can have a hegemony and the community wont do anything as long as the hegemon is not a threat.
