So... I make it a point to visit the Eve status monitor server occasionally and this is what I am seeing;-
Currently online: 3,375 Max (24h): 4,325 (2014-01-24 00:05:00)
For those of you that dont understand this;- there are currently 3375 people playing this game as of this post and 4325 players have been on at any single given instance of time. In the past these numbers hovered around 2300 for players online and 3700 for maximum number of players at any single given instance of time.
One could attribute these numbers to various improvements that CCP has made to the game (CCP gives true meaning to the phrase better late than never) in terms of handling the lag and bringing in in game items but I would attribute the increase in these numbers to 2 aspects and here are my reasons why;-
1. Operation Shinobi
The reason this event is so unique is that it encourages a different kind of gameplay away from the normal stand 100 mts away and use my proto rail rifle gameplay. It encourages people to get up close and personal which can be challenging and fun. Yes! I used the word "fun"! Something Bust 514 hasnt been for a long long time. The reward system in place too for this event also actually makes it worth running around with a Nove Knife stabbing people.
2. 5x in game SP and 3x XP cap
This is not only a good way to bring back vets but also help the noobs gain valueable SP in a short period of time. While the vets can use that SP to unlock a pretty new dropsuit or try out a new weapon, the noobs can use the SP to get that proto weapon or suit or core skill they so long wanted to.
So essentially what CCP has done here either knowingly or unknowingly is that they have created a fun and challenging event with good rewards while catering to the need of the community. Shocking isnt it? Something that as vets have been asking for over a ******* year! If CCP can continue this trend (fingers crossed);- MLK's statement of "I have a dream that Dust 514 will be a great game" will come to pass. Now all that needs to be seen is if its 2020 or 2016.
All in all there have been a good amount of improvements and lesser amount of **** ups.

More than likely... But CCP may have something here in terms of how to fix the mess they created.

Pfffftttttt common sense is uncommon for the most part. Common sense in Dust is like finding a Opus Luxury Yacht in Eve.

I see you have been spending a lot of time with IWS or joined his BS Wagon. I have about 21 alts and all those alts are listed in dustboard. What dustboard doesnt tell you is how many of those people actually play dust?
MAG too has over a million characters but guess what;- the servers are being shut down.
PS: In addition to that what am I going to do with 5 million plus characters when I have little or no people to play with.

I'm an Eve Online player. Don't think I don't know that already. I have alts as well, you know. I'm talking estimates. ESTIMATES! Also, I'm not into the IWS bandwagon. Me and him still butt heads on a few things.
Ok! As long as you are not enrolled in IWS School of Dellutional Numnuts I'll play nice.
Even though dustboard has 5 million plus characters it doesnt mean that I get to play with a good amount off them. When I see eve-offline.net and see 3300 players online;- I know that if I login in now to play Dust I will be playing with 3300 players.
This is an improvement from whats it was a month ago where there were literally less than 2500 players online when I would log in.
I am trying to raise a point that people will come back to Dust as long as there is a good enough reason. Events like Operation Shinobi and the 5WP/3SP have helped that If CCP can continue this trend we might see a lot more people come back and new players take it up more.

You know whoever told you his smallest hairs are long enough to do draids probablly had him on his knees facing north while he tugged on his hair saying "Who is your daddy?".
Its W/E man!
And why are we discussing IWS hair anyway? Or are you one of the recent recruits from his school of dellutional numnuts that cant read or has way too less of an attension span to read an entire paragraph?

Maken Tosch wrote: Honestly I would prefer to see real content like more racial suits, racial weapons, racial vehicles, more unique maps, more game modes, PvE and an open market. Those will bring in more players per hour than what we have now. Since suits and weapons are now being added in 1.8 and we are now getting cloaks in addition to plenty of scout love for once, I foresee many players coming back to Dust.
I couldnt agree with you more. Quality over quantity is always better. Also CCP's track record of screwing up 10 things when fixing 1 has reduced to practically 0. I hope this continues.

While I kinda sorta agree with what you say it does help the noobs spec into something good if they grind it out. That gives them an option to go with someone head to head. More competition means more fun.

It will take the same amount of time or less to grind out the current event cap then if it were just another regular weekly cap scenario. Sometimes I think you people just like to complain.
I think what he could mean if the grind involved when you dont have boosters. Lets face it when there is an SP event there is a little bit more time spent. It could be in terms of trying to achieve the goal that you probably wouldnt have done on a normal week.

Iron Wolf Saber wrote: My worst Feedback scenario was the Prime Tournament where I didn't think the rules of that game out through entirely (there was alot of other noise with that event though mostly the hosting site) which lead to some bad tastes in people mouths because I dropped the ball on that one.
I only had a part in feedback but I provided it on every event so far to help continue to shape the events to the best they can get without software support (as its not a coded feature yet) which is also something cpm consistent presses for (to make event's team lives far easier)
Chances are when this event is over CCP will ask the CPM on the event again and continue with the refinement process.
I can respect honesty even if I dont like it over fanboism. I will back off bashing you for now.
