According to the Keynote at Fanfest (which I've just finished watching) PvE should scale, starting out easy then getting harder. Of course that was in summer of last year and we've still not got much in the way of hard facts to look at.
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be nearer to the opponents redline than my own.

It's no surprise that CPM and Devs are staying away from this thread and all others like it. They're under NDA's about most of what they know. For all we know, PvE could be ready to roll out in 1.9 (1.8 is a little too unrealistic) but they're just not allowed to talk about it yet.
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be nearer to the opponents redline than my own.

No-one on Dust is under the impression it's real....

over an online game/forum 'means' something.. Im talking who down? I love video games more than any one else but i despise any one who thinks that they can tell others how to play. you insulted people who like to play pve and talked them down. you called us scrubs for hating the crappy game mode that is pvp. so naturally i reacted to you. pve is for fun pvp is for jerks end of story. id rather be a scrub who plays for fun than a jerk like you who thinks that playing video games is some kind of skill.
Actually, both PvE and PvP are for fun. Just because you don't find it fun doesn't mean everyone who does is a jerk.
Of course if you do actually believe that I have to wonder why you're signed up for the forums of a game that is totally PvP. Which suggests you don't believe that. If you don't believe that and wrote it anyway, for the reaction it would get you, that makes you a troll.

Personally, I'm not usually a PVP type of person. In eve, for example, I mostly participate in the PvE content. However, I find Dust to be a fairly fun game. Fun, is an entirely subjective thing. What I find fun can be different to what other people find fun. I don't judge them on their preferences (as long as they're legal). Your assertion that Dust is 'just a place for people with too much free time to hang out' is clearly untrue it isn't *just* that at all. It's also a source of enjoyable gameplay for a number of people, a place that, according to studies, improves hand-eye coordination and a place that inspires people to create things of their own. Artwork, writings, music, videos and such. There is a thriving community around the New Eden universe of games.
Plus, even if it was just a place for people to hang out, what's wrong with that exactly?

Okay, I've never experienced any of that personally and I play as one of the least liked classes in the game. A sniper. (Not redline unless the whole team has been pushed back there). It's possible that they mean their comments to be semi-friendly banter. Most people actually realise that it takes a range of types and tactics to effectively win matches. Another possibility is they're 'smack talking'. Trying to make you react emotionally, therefore more predictably and easier to kill. All I can say is not everyone is like that. I know I try not to be for one and, as I've said, I've never had that happen to me so there must be others who aren't like that.
