Don't hate the players, hate the game. Or Scotty the matchmaking berserker. Or CCP....
It's not the full proto squads that ruin matches. In my opinion it's a lack of game modes for Proto users to really compete against each other (except PCs) and as many Dusters know, matchmaking.
2 days ago we had some terrible back-to-back matches against a well known French Corp. EU servers, Domination.
The point is in my opinion: they are good players, well organized, communicate, have a full squad of pros that know what to do. They got Proto weps, dropsuits and equipment. Of course we couldn't win.
We got wasted, but simply because they were better than us in almost every aspect (almost, cuz we got more idealism). Apart from them there was another full squad making a lot of kills etc.
On our side there was no squad except ours, consisting of 3 decent players with some experience, but far from being vets. The rest were random players.
The odds were not in our favor, but still our three man squad got on top of our team's leaderboards. Not so much by kills, (omg my KDR was 2/6) but by dropping uplinks an stuff. BTW i still got more than 280 K ISK for that terrible match., better than nothing.
Why call them PubStompers? The problem is not them but the terrible matchmaking and lack of game modes.
@CCP: I don't know if there's a way to do it, but why not pitch full squads from good Corps against each other in different teams? I have experienced such great matches, balanced teams waging for the letter, and they were the best I've ever had. Till the last clone. That's what DUST should be like imo.

Scotty can do eet!
You just gotta give him moar time!
aka how long is the average player prepared to wait while scotty checks all avenues for a good match, or waits till an appropriate match up is available.
if you are fine with 10 minute waits between matches, then its all good, Scotty has the materials to work with. If you want next to no wait time between matches, then with current player numbers Scotty has to make do with what he's got. |

Its really not even a matter of sp balance at this point. A simple 30 second matchmaking process would work.
32 playersque for battle. 12 of these players are split in 2, 6 man squads. Squad A goes to one team, squad b to the other. End pub que syncing and some of the pub imbalance. Just work your way down the squads. Squads of 6 get paced first, then 5, then 4, etc etc. Remainder gets populated with solos.
There is no reason Scotty should be putting 2 full squads on one team and none on the other

When two full squads end up on one team and none on the other you can't use the lack of players excuse. That's when it falls onto poor match making. |

Whenever I solo I like to open team chat to check other squads, and it seems like it is always a full team of randoms with no squad.

Suit type is irrelevant. It's almost solely caused by organized six-man squads being matched against solo noobs. CCP's terrible matchmaking often puts multiple full squads on just one side of the match.

The issue is that something is up with Scotty. He doesn't seem capable of balancing sides. It really does seem like he puts all the people with proto suits and squads together then throws everyone else on the other team.
I'm not sure how to help Scotty out. |

I agree that matchmaking is an issue but feel the problem really lies in gamemode design. All the gamemodes funnel the player back into pubs and that is a bad idea.
PC is far too limited to pull any vets away, at least for long. It's extremely hard to get into further limiting those who actually can play. Even PC at its best is only a few matches a day and even then it's a very small pool of players.
FW is unsustainable. Rewards are small and is too much of an Isk sink sending you right back to pubs. Plus extreme times to get into matches hampers anyone taking it seriously. There is also disparity between the factions that has really removed most of its meaning.
On the flip side new players, or just casual players, have absolutely no where to go. They are stuck in pubs fighting vets who have no place there. We need to get the big kids out of the kiddie pool and give them a reason to go play in the deep end. |

The big problem with FacWar sustainability, Galvan, is the lack of a player market. FacWar gear would sell quite well on such a system.

the only way to keep stacked sides away from teams of randoms is to simply not allow it, even if you gave 16 players the means to fight another 16 organised players, they will still que up in public matches if its allowed |

Implementing corporate battles, more PC battles (i.e. fixing district locking), better matchmaking, and perhaps even a game mode that limits the use of top-tier weapons/suits would also help the staked teams and stomping that results. |
