So For those of you that were not around a while back, the Tactical AR used to be quite powerful. I can't remember the exact stats but it had a reasonable size magazine of I think 30 ish bullets. It also had a relatively high fire rate considering it was a semi-auto weapon. It was eventually nerfed some months ago as people abused modded controllers / turbo fire on that weapon.
Now the Scrambler rifle is in a similar position today.
It does not have quite the same optimal range as the TAC AR but it has I think the same damage per shot, has a nice sight, has way more shots in the magazine than the TAC AR ever did and on top of that it has the awesome charged shot capacity.
My problem is I have noticed some people who are clearly running it with a modded controller or have absolutely crazy finger work and can operate even the basic scrambler at a full auto sustained fire. (Generally with the Amarr assault suit)
Where is the balance? The TAC AR was nerfed harshly because of this yet the scrambler rifle can be spammed just like a full auto rifle, it has the added benefit of a much larger magazine, the charged shot capability, the same high damage per shot yet the only marginal downside is the slightly less optimal range compared to the TAC AR and the overheat mechanic which is not a huge penalty at all when coupled with the Amarr assault suit.
This is NOT balance. Either balance the scrambler properly (And no not down to the levels of the TAC AR) or reinstate the TAC AR to its former glory so AR users can compete.
Its absurd watching people go 50+ kills in a match with the basic scrambler using either macros or turbo fire. There needs to be balance. Right now the weapons are certainly NOT balanced.
Just to be clear - I am not talking about someone randomly spamming this weapon, I have clearly seen people sustain a full auto fire rate. They kill everything in their path before the overheat even kicks in. |

How do you know for sure that they are using modded controllers? Are you merely judging because the person went 50+ kills with a SCR or have you extensively studied the SCR to make this claim?

I have watched people keep up a sustained rate of fire, much faster than anything I have ever seen people do before. Usually even when someone can click fast, there is some variation in the tempo. Not with the people I have been seeing recently. Sustained fire at a rate similar to the assault scrambler. Even while aiming / jumping / engaging in CQC.
Even the pros have to admit that is very fishy. The whole way through the battle the same high rate of fire. I have been around this game for over a year and I am telling you this is worse than the TAC AR ever was. Its annoying as hell.
For instance a guy called VC Marston does wonders with his scrambler, but his rate of fire is certainly varied. The few guys I have noticed the last few days / weeks have a SUSTAINED really high fire rate.
Regardless the rate of fire for the TAC AR needs to be increased and the Scrambler needs to be lowered so they both meet somewhere in the middle.
I wish I had a way to record my game sessions other than recording my screen with my phone to show you. |
