I've checked my mic and it hooks up with the PS3 -- sounds ok. In-game I have trouble getting the chat channels to change and when they do no makers show up, I can't hear and I can't talk. DUST 514 says I have sound on and press to talk is off.
I've entered and exited the game, shut the PS3 off and on again.
I don't know what's going on

After last update I had the "voice chat bug" and I had to log out and back in EVERY time for my voice to work. I finally deleted and redownloaded Dust and I don't have that problem anymore. |

bump because this is absolutely ridiculous that this bug hasn't been fixed yet. What in the literal hell is wrong with you CCP that you still have this bug persist for MONTHS and it is 100% reproducible |

Im having the exact same issue, i've done everything I could think of to fix it. It's quite annoying running around in a squad with no comms. I can't hear them and I can't talk.

There seems to be a laundry list of things that will help with this bug.
Since 1.7
- log out and back in again - don't shut down the game or PS3
Previously - may still apply
- Delete your game settings, you will have to set up your game-play settings again.
- Turn voice comms off and on again
- Turn push to talk on and off again
- Disconnect your audio equipment, Mic, headset + restart without it + reconnect audio equipment + restart
- Rebuild your PS3 database
- Rebuild your PS3 filesystem (long shot)
- Delete and re-dowload + reinstall DUST 514 (long shot)
Hopefully one or more of these helps :) |

If you have recently changed headset/mic or have had a system failure; the PS3 will reset the audio input settings back to default; meaning youGÇÖll have to re-select the headset/microphone (in out of game system settings) you're using to make the thing work overall.
Then youGÇÖll have to play around with the ingame audio settings and then restart the system for the whole thing to properly register. Hopefully that will help you to get it working.
Best of luck o7

There is a massive difference between "repeatable on my system" and "reproducible on someone else's system" if it is truly reproducible, then you can tell us the steps for someone else's game to encounter this flaw. If it only happens on older systems, or just your system, even if it is reliable, then it is not reproducible.
Also, one of the older fixes is to log into another character and use their chat for a while, then switch back to the main character. You may say "how is that different from just logging out then back in?" and I can say that for some it is an initialization value of some kind and doing so forces initialization for the other character which could fix the first one. Logging out and back in has the system look at the same set of data, and may not do anything. Then again depending on the actual source of the problem, this alternate method may not do anything either.
If you can read this, it means you are reading.
Unless you are skimming

Doesn't work. Was the first thing I did Friday when the issue occurred. It's not the fact that you can't hear or talk, it's the fact I can't connect to the voice server itself. Logging an alt would indeed fix the issue, but not in my case considering I can't connect to the voice server itself

CCP will give you a more extensive list of things to try in your ticket.
Once none of those work it becomes very difficult to work out what is wrong with your system/game.
Good luck |

For what it's worth I eventually deleted the game and all the save data and reloaded it. The problem went away.
My suspicion is bit rot -- I've been around for a long time and the game has updated many times. There has been a lot of opportunity for system corruption.
That being said, there are a many of reasons why voice chat can get screwed up and we may be seeing them all mixed together. The DUST 514 system hands-off connections between servers, between companies, and between players in complicated ways. Leaving problems with the code aside, each of those connections is an opportunity for things to break down. Believe it or not, it's better now than it has been at times in the past.
Even so, I'd like to see some indication that CCP has people actively assigned to this and a few words about the directions they are pursuing.

Yes please. I just did all the resets possible re installed the game, the old fix with switching characters does not work for me anymore. And an error is reproducable if you have the same system. Cant see why not ccp shouldent have 50 different PS3's to constantly run bug deduction on |

Did you delete dust before re installing? I tried reinstalling over dust that did not work. I finally decided to delete and reinstall all is fine now |

I also had the bug before, fully delete the game, no you dont have to mess with save file or anything, just delete, restart, download the game again, bam voice coms works for most that do this. Bad way to have to fix a problem but it works.

Well, i did a full system restore. Deleted every game on the system. Is that different from selecting Dust singularly, then delete? This is getting way out of hand. I tried different TV's different hdmi's aswell, just for funs, tho it should work with the ps3 headsett. Audio gets through it fine. I did make a ticket, where do i get a response to it? will it be like a notofication? Everytime I try to join a channel, i get a little "buzz" sound for half a sec, before it dissapears back out again. Someone mentioned that they though they couldent connect to the voice server. Is that the problem? How many other ppl are having this? I'd buy a new PS3 but probably i will snap and scream like a babby if i get the same problem on it, so maybe its safest not to, eh?
