This is what was believed when dust was first talk about on the EVE forums years ago. I still think that's what it means but there has never been any confirmation. |

Problem is CCP made it very clear that it is....
FIVE.....ONE.....FOUR - 5.....1.....4
Not "fifty one four" or "five hundred fourteen" or "five fourteen."

For all you lore lovers: It is also believed that The Sleepers and Jove are very closely related, often thought that the Sleepers where once Jovain but left behind as the Jova Left their Homeplanet in hopes to cure the "Jovain Disesase" which was caused from extensive genetic rewrite. The Sleepers encased themselves in a Virtual reality while their drones tried to reconstruct the Human genome. It is Also thought that that the Jovains went to "W space" to try and find a Human species that's DNA was'nt corrupted by the EVE gate closure.
The Sleepers are Jovian. It flat out says in Templar One that the Sleepers were Jove, specifially ones sent out to construct the first Jove Stargates. A Jove drone programmed with a construct of the recorded consciousness of a Jove comes to Marcus Jror and tells him so that he tries to stop the Amarr (and subsequently the other three empires) from harvesting sleeper implants to make clone soldiers.

Some of them did, yes. The first people implanted with Sleeper implants were 12 Amarr Soldiers and a Caldari Prisoner called Vince Barabin. One of them went nuts in the book Templar One and the rest, with the exception of one of the Vince clones, were destroyed by the Amarr Navy. The other races, after the events of Templar One, got ahold of the technology and used sleeper implants themselves, consequently, some of those went nuts and one of the things they did was paint 514 all over the place. The Amarr, managed to reverse engineer the implants and have come up with safe technology which they freely shared with the other empires (the events in the chronicle 514). Presumably between the chronicle and the point in the timeline where Dust 514 was released, the other three empires adopted the Amarr technology, or studied it and came up with their own version.
As far as I know, the in-lore meaning of 514 hasn't been explained yet

Ugh, I hate Eve. 5th Race = Jove (A secretive and mysterious race. Not generally player controllable) I would also be assuming that Jove have only 2 bloodlines as the other 4 races that we can pick from have 3 bloodlines each.
The Jove don't have bloodlines. They're all clones, genetically engineered and grown to adulthood. This has lead to major problems and the race is pretty much presumed to be dead as no-one has seen or heard anything from an actual Jove in years. However no-one wants to be the first to 'invade' Jove space in case they're not totally dead yet because it's Jove technology that makes Concord Ships virtually unbeatable. (Unless you gank them with a huge Titan fleet like the Minmatar Elders did that one time.)

Hilarious.
I think along these lines too.
the amount of times you will rage whilst playing this game in a day... the amount of years it would take to fix this 'broke ass game'... the amount of times you will want to delete this game before finally deleting it... the amount of money you will spend on this game before you say enough is enough then question yourself 'free 2 play?-wtf?' the amount of tanks you see in one game... the amount of..
Well you get the picture

Possible but unlikely considering it's only the cloned soldiers with Sleeper implants thatcreate a link to 514, that suggests it's something to do with the sleepers, the Jove as a whole or the 'other' which took over Jamyl Sarum. I'm hoping we get another novel or two and we get to find out.

Found the below in a mail when I subscribed for the beta, maybe it helps.
Death made obsolete Immortal soldier technology has quietly proliferated among the four empires. The origins of this technology can be traced back to events that occurred on the planet PikeGÇÖs Landing, in the Amamake system, on or about 13 June YC113. Numerous reports of advanced soldiers winning asymmetrical engagements against conventional forces throughout New Eden have been denied by officials but corroborated by surviving eyewitnesses.
In recent weeks new reports of mass defections from the standing armies of the empires have also surfaced. More disturbingly, these AWOL soldiers are all believed to be from the same class of advanced technology. The prevailing speculation is that these are prototypes which all seem to be suffering a common defect.
There is compelling evidence that the four empires are actively cooperating with each other to hide the truth from the public. Military operations along the fronts have drawn down, and the maneuvers of combat units inside their own borders suggest that a massive manhunt is underway.
On the 1st of December YC113 an SOS broadcast was sent to CONCORD from a pair of surface outposts in the UBX-CC system. These outposts were built and operated by the Sisters of EVE. Archived permits state these facilities were established as research centers, but significant archeological activity was present nearby both sites.
One week later, MorduGÇÖs Legion issued a cryptic public announcement addressed to the AWOL soldiers of New Eden. It only contained the number "514".
Within days, scouts in the Geminate region reported the convergence of multiple factions at the SOE outpost sites in UBX-CC: the Guristas, Serpentis, Amarr Empire, MorduGÇÖs Legion, Angel Cartel, Templis Dragonaurs, Blood Raiders, and Arkombine.
