Look at the huge weapons being toted around on the field. Would it be that hard to carry a few extra grenades?
I recommend that the grenadier skill have a buff of +1 grenade capacity per level.

Considering the absurd nature of the game, yes, that is what I think would be fun. What is 8 grenades compared to an orbital strike, plasma cannon or tank? Let's mix it up.

You obviously have not played PC where grenade spam is rampant. In fact it is so rampant, grenades take a lot more nanites from hives now and it has been requested that current locus grenades max be lowered. If you want what is essentially 8 grenades, start using an Assault Mass Driver.

I would recommand a Grenadier SUITS. 3 Grenade Slots.
=> Nerf grenade capacity BEFORE.
Locus : 1 (Light Locus like sleek : 2) AV : 3 Flux : 2
Right know this is already too grenade spam.

grenades. should be used for large crowds of enemies.(even though the nade alone by it self cant really function that way with all the tanked out suits and stuff but still ohk just about all mlt and std suits alone. which is annoying.).
i believe they should not be used in mass quantities just to kill a single person.
or deny an entire team from an objective.
i always seem to reserve mine for crowded areas. or when im trying to escape from some1 chasing me while im at low hp.
when it comes to grenades it seems like ppl act like this.

How many grenades are dispensed to a single soldier in any modern army? I think the answer is way below 8 :D
Real world has very little to do with this game because stuff like instantaneous transfer of consciousness, shields and portable wormholes :D

And 21th century soldiers are about to get exoskelettons that are supposed to run on fuel cells for three days, with recoil absorption for guns. And humans are kind of special in the animal kingdom for having extremely high endurance.
If you really want to argue about logic, you should start with this aspect. We've got clones that are pumped so full of combat-enhancing products that they have basically no lifespan and yet they run out of stamina after a few seconds of carrying light armor.
Seriously, you can dismantle the entire game with this kind of logic. That's a wall that sci-fi settings (Actually, all of fiction in general - Try fleshing out a setting. I can assure you that you'll have plenty of holes due to your own ignorance or biases. You won't even realize that there's holes in your setting) inevitably run into. Especially in a videogame, where you need to balance it against gameplay.
Then again, it would be fun to have a super-prototype class of unique equipment with abilities on par with stuff like Crysis... Especially when the player market is finally realized. |

Besides the fact that your math is off it would be 7 grenades. You start at two and get one more after the first level. I think we should get at least three more than we already carry. Those darn tanks gotta learn!

I like what you have to say, although the point of providing feedback is to deliver a rich set of popular feature/enhancement requests from us to allow the game to grow organically (extreme programming).
Obviously this particular request is not popular.
I do think that it is a shame when an environment is dumbed down so that people can "enjoy" it more. Reading the forum entries, it sounds like there's a lot of frustration concerning the game.
I suppose all that matters to the business is that they achieve/maintain critical mass which means that the mob rules.

This could be used as a defence for any idea that isn't popular, regardless whether it's batshit insane or not. I'm afraid your idea falls into the batshit insane category quite firmly.
Think about this for a moment. A core locus grenade can OHKO most suits bar heavies and extremely highly tanked medframes. It does this in a large area. Presently, the best defence is to move away from the grenade.
Now consider that you can throw eight. There would be unending grenade spam. Every time anyone gets into a remotely defensible position half a dozen grenades would land on their head.
Grenades, not just core locus, are already very powerful. There is absolutely no need to over double their spammability.

I keep saying it ::) Grenadier dropsuits!!! I can smell the tankers fear lol! Not to this extreme ofcourse?! 8mgrenades IS a ittle much?! Also it's not just to be another infantry killer, but for point defense, point defense busting, and heavy armor busting! That's why I included current explosive and AV weapons already in game. Bonuses to explosive weaponry of all types, grenades included, like mass drivers and swarm launchers!
Bonuses like less cpu and pg usage on eplosive weaponry! Do not mistake the grenadier for a wrecking ball of explosive power. He's more of a specialist, and should sacrifice base armor and shield protection, much like the the logi, but with a speed and movement bonus. Bare with me because making sure this isn't another op avenue for massive explotation?!
The grenadier has, if you will, multiple rolls rolled into one. Like the scout sets up and hacks areaes of interest with stealth and silence. The grenadier is setup for exactly the opposite.... busting up fortifications, infestations, and hitting armor where it hurts! He still requires assault protection, and is easily taken down in toe to toe combat just like our current struggling anti armor players?!
Oh you know it's tempting ::), and the anit armor class gets it's deserved revamp! Think about the FUTURE applications for PVE! He wouldn't be OP or unstoppable, like the tanks, but definitely vital to stopping rooms full of protos at alpha! Three or more tanks at delta! Holding charlie waiting for reinforcement!
Let's stop letting kd hugging, redzone hiding tankers ruin this game please!

From a logic point of view, this would make sense. However, from a game-play point of view this would no the the best of ideas. I am a huge proponent of skills doing more than unlocking new things (meaning providing passive bonuses), I feel that one grenade per level is a huge amount. Instead, a more indirect benefit, like a few percent throw range, slightly larger blast radius, fitting cost reductions, or throw speed (perhaps accompanied by a small change to base stats) would serve to make higher skills more useful while preventing massive amounts of 'grenade spam'.
Also, for the record, I have 0 SP invested into Grenades. Militia get the job done as is, and I am fine with only two.

Let's face it. Most teams do not exercise proper defense. They spend 90 seconds breaking through to a null cannon, capture it and then they're out of there.
However, if they did hunker down and employ defensive lines to hold an objective, most likely the attacking team would be creamed on approach before they were within grenade throwing range, since most of the maps have an open terrain layout.
Don't forget, the attacking team is also in jeopardy of the defending team's grenades, the threat of which varies depending on the exact topology of the defensive and offensive lines.
War is messy. Deal.
Orbital strikes alone break the continuity of the game to the point that it removes fun factor, but that is the world that they have created.
I could use a few extra grenades and I wouldn't be averse to other mercs having more as well.

This would only encourage grenade spamming which we already have a problem with when people stand in nanohives. With the hive nerf to help stop this, your opinion would only worsen the situation.

If you want to talk about gameplay, removing orbitals would be a good step. All they seem to do on a regular basis is be dropped on the losing side that tried to regain a foothold.
Scenario - You team is pushed out of a city area but you have just managed to sneak into the city and hack a CRU. "WOOOOOOMM" in come the orbital to wipe out your counter attack. Back to the red line you go. Drop a few uplinks, same thing.
Team A is red lining the crap out of team B. Team A drops an orbital on team B`s base spawns so they die before they even load up. Great gameplay. |

Instead of rewarding WP (Which the winners will have more of), you could unlock them depending on another factor. Maybe divide the total clone count of a team into segments of 20% size each. If a segment is lost, an orbital is unlocked. The question there is who would actually get to control the orbital in that situation. Giving each squad one might be kind of broken. |

How about giving it to the squad that has the most WP on the team receiving an orbital?
