Now that the faylock is dead, can we dig it up and make it shoot flux nades to drop shields on really annoying vehicles , maybe make it some type of EMP AV that doesn't work on infantry so it's not op with a MD?
drop ships just hover with no threat, and drop bombs on our troops, if this disabled shields an then you could actually make use of swarm launchers or av grenades instead of trying to run behind a tank with remotes, and it would force vehicle users to actually fear some sort of damage by just poaching spawn points with tanks and drop ships .
Thoughts?

The flaylock is not dead. It just takes more skill to use. I hate to say it but get good. |

Scouts also take tons more skill to use than their old iteration. Should I go to the Scout Registry and call them all scrubs who should get good?
Do this, or your entire argument falls apart.

You wouldn't dare
On the matter of flaylocks: They need a buff. They can still be used, but an ScP outperforms it in almost everyway.
I hope they keep the skill element in it though.
I don't remember who said this but, "The flaylock isn't dead, it's just in better hands"
I want to keep it that way.
Nothing says "F**K YOU!" like a direct Flaylock to the face.

I'm good with it I was rocking it all last week getting direct hits, it's not about it being usefull 1/10 altercations and since that's the state it's in we should have a AV weapon that will ward off these op vehicle spammers.

I once was in a squad where we attacked a tank with 2 plasma cannons, flux grenades, a mass driver, and a flaylock.
Let's just say that it didn't even stand a chance, and that he probably felt embarrassed because it was the flaylock that ended up landing the final hit.
So funny.

Flaylck is still around and should not be written off. CCP should have a look at it, a number of discussion have talked about ways to fix it. As to Fluxlock - I really like this idea perhaps as a Gal variant of the weapon. It would actually be very useful.

It will be come 1.8. No one is going to use any weapon that's useless against FotM Heavies. |

Any weapon powerful enough to destroy a tank is life threatening to infantry.
Just accept that.

The reduction to both splash damage and direct hit damage, coupled with the reduction to splash radius, brought the flaylock into marginal usage. The advent of extremely reduced TTK and the resulting rise of rapid-fire hitscan weapons made it an inferior choice across the board.
The only nerf it needed was a nerf to splash radius, as it was much too easy to apply its full damage rapidly. In today's DUST, the flaylock's original damage output is necessary for parity, though a return to its old splash radius at the same time would make it outshine all other sidearms once again. As it stands, the flaylock cannot output enough damage to be a satisfactory finishing weapon; every other weapon can apply more damage more quickly and reliably.
It is the same challenge facing the MD today, though in the MD's case, it stayed the same as everything else was buffed around it. |

I duel wield the Flay. Needs a buff, but the-salt-on-the-wound is what I'm going for. Oh, and I'm a scout.

the flaylock can still kill people, so in that regard the dev that nerfed it failed to make it completely useless like swarm launchers.
that's about all I have to say that's good about the flaylock, the thing is the worst side arm to date bar none, knife wins out because you don't see shin-obi flaylock events, people like the knife, it's so bad it's fun to use, the flaylock is just bad. |

I've been posting "get good" in scout forums for months now ever since I decided to try it. It's a great suit and my most used fitting is probably the dren scout with toxin smg and the basic flaylock pistol. It's a great fitting if you can aim with the flaylock or forget the days when it was a pocket mass driver. Weaken them with the SMG and if you need to jump around and dodge bullets, jump toward them and fire at their feet.
I see it as a clean up tool used to just get the last few chucks of amor taken care of and it does just that.
Just because a weapon can out perform another doesn't mean the weaker weapon is "dead", it just means that more people will use the SCP.
Trying to tell me my argument falls apart because I'm not grouping 1000s of people in a forum discussing unrelated issues under one umbrella of "get good, scrubs" is lazy. I say it to people plenty enough to prove to you that I stand by the following two views:
1. Scout suits are fine and don't need to be buffed like crazy, especially after the scan range buff. 2. Flaylock pistols are not dead. People just suck with them now because they're harder to use like a mass driver. |
