I rarely do this with a rail tank but when I'm running blaster I will often drive over the other tank to get on the other side of their turret. I have even kicked on the nitrous and ramped over an enemy rail tank that was coming after me to get away and later kill him by getting him from behind. If you set up tanks right you can jump them about one story up.
I'm sure I'm not the only one the realizes tank fights are much more than sitting there and shooting until one blows up and getting on top of someone can save your butt and blow theirs up.
Assault dropship gets blown up....

I saw a tank do this and throw the tank it boosted at into the air about forty feet. Then he killed the tank easily cause he was behind him. |

I do this in a missile tank while I reload or to recharge my hardeners.

The only problem I have with this is you can no longer block other tanks. You can no longer circle an enemy tank because they only have to drive in a straight line to prevent you from out-maneuvering them, regardless if you're in their way.
Also, those damn LAVs weigh more than my Gunnlogi! I've been pushed aside while driving my Gunnlogi by LAVs. Once it even pushed me off the edge of the "bridge" on the medium socket where the hack point is below ground level surrounded by pools of acid. I got stuck on the stairway with a blueberry so I couldn't so anything. I managed to drive my Gunnlogi inside and ended up in a pool of acid with my Gunnlogi 
Thankfully the blueberry jumped out late instead of never. I got out into the acid and tanked it while recalling. I escaped the acid with 40 armor on my dropsuit

When I dont feel like actually doing anything I go in my tank and sumo every tank I see blue or red always fun to tip them over its like tipping over a cow.. |
