Go look at the Eve forums around whenever an expansion comes out. We don't keep moaning about how the game's changed so much and we want our SP back so we can play the role we want. We look at the stats, look at our skills and what we want to do and we play around with fittings so we can do what we want.
Will I use a respec/refund/ whatever if they give it? Yes, I'd be stupid not to. Do I feel entitled to one? Hell no. Wow, you just enlightened me.
I had no idea DUST played anything like EVE. Wow, I should just run out to a belt and do some mining, maybe go clear up some rats or just fly around looking for people to troll. Let me just unlock a host of new suits with a single skill and go run some cool scams in a trade hub local while I'm scanning the market for good trade opportunities. Nope, guess I'll just go plexing for a while, stop some Incursions, maybe go infiltrate some null sec space just for giggles.
You learnt me, man DUST is so much cooler than I remember.
Wow.

So your point is that because a free, one year old game isn't as well developed as a ten year old game with thousands of monthly subscribers yet you should get SP back bcause you're too lazy to work out how to play the way you want to with the skills you already have? Because in terms of fitting dropsuits to complement your style, dust is pretty damn similar to fitting ships in eve so my point is actually valid. Also, and this is a pretty minor point, all things considered, I'm not a man, I'm a woman, you really shouldn't make assumptions. 'man' used like that does not refer to gender. Also, DUST is only free if you didn't pay for it, just like EVE only costs money if you do pay for it, cuz you know, PLEX.
The point is that in EVE if some of your bonuses are jumbled around, you have PLENTY of other things to do still, and many of those skills will cross over to other playstyles.
This is not so in DUST. In DUST, you shoot the other dude, you heal that dude shooting the other dude, or you AFK. Those are your in game options. Changing everything up entirely invalidates some past decisions, it totally throws current builds out of wack (for better or worse), and when you are stuck in your single type of suit with your couple of guns game in and game out, it takes a significantly larger toll on a players enjoyment.
Basically speaking: different games are in fact, different.
