Idk why people really complain about the scouts, I used the scout g.k0 for the first time yesterday and it was glorious.
How I fit it
1x Enhanced Shield Extender
Duvolle Assault Rifle
Toxin SMG
Advanced Quantum Scanner
2x Complex Armor Plate
1x Advanced Range Extender
1x Enhanced Armor Repairer
Couldn't be scanned (I have level V in Profile Dampening), had a nice wide range of targets I could see on my radar, flanking with the Duvolle was a breeze. Went 28/4 in the first match (damn you heavies and bullet slow down effect), and 16/0 in the next.
If this is what being a proto scout is like, I'm DYING to get my hands on my proto Amarr Scout.

I feel you. I can definitely see the benefits of a speedier scout (especially at the proto level), but I was still in awe at being able to sprint at 7.24 m/s with nearly 500 aHP.

I had a 12/0 (the only impressive part is not dying) in my MLT Minja.
M-512A SMG, STD Flux, ADV Cardiac and KinCat, and R-9 Uplinks
I'm almost definitely going to add gK.0 Scouts (and Commandos) to my inventory after 1.8 to play with when being a Heavy gets boring.

That was the point actually.
When you read over the stats for the Amarr Scout, it immediately jumps out as a light assault, NOT a scout per se. I wanted to fit this Scout g.k0 as closely to what I'd run on the Scout a.ko as I could since they have as similar slot layout (a.ko 2H 4L). I tried to make it as "light assault-ish) as possible so I can settle into my new suit easier once 1.8 drops.

I ran the dragonfly basic and went 28/2 and advanced I went 16/12 but that was a match against a lot of tankers - just had a hard time crossing ground and sneaking around them.
No I didn't break - the change in playstyle and tactics was a welcomed change and I couldn't care less about KD/R really - it was just fun for once.

I've been running E-WAR gal scout on an alt with Lvl 5 in scout, dampening, precision, and range amp, and basic/militia everything else (aside from advanced NKs). It's pretty freaking awesome and makes for some really memorable games.
My fit (advanced):
Highs: 1x Complex Precision Enhancer, one slot empty (outta CPU)
Lows: 2x Complex Range Amplifiers
Shotgun
ZN-28 Nova Knives
Flux Grenade
Remote Explosive
Only 200 EHP but oh, it's sooo fun. My passive scans have 72m of range and 32.4dB precision, so I detect mostly everyone except scouts who have skilled up their own dampening.
I'm looking forward to the scout buff and cloak in 1.8. Pretty much the only thing about 1.8 that I'm liking so far. |

To be fair, scouts aren't THAT bad as combat units, just that they don't have a role.
Now with all the buffs in 1.8 I'm afraid that the combat effectiveness might be too much and will make assaults obeslete.
We'll see.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Lol, why is this a new thing? Been running Dragonfly and sometimes use a tac AR as a marksman if not running a sniper/smg combo.
Great, now scouts will be the FOTM and I'll get lumped in with the crowd like tankers.

I feel the same way.
As I stated above, the Amarr Scout really comes across as a light assault suit and I feel that many Amarr Assault players may swap to it. The Amarr scout is getting 170 armor at its base so with my skills that would bump it up to ~210 aHP - currently my Amarr Assault has 220 aHP base without plates.

210 armor HP is what the Gallente assault currently has, only without the speed.
So yeah.

I'm sitting on a pile of SP for the Amarr scout. I'll be looking forward to a light assault suit. Don't forget it's going to have two equipment slots so it can take on the role of combat medic very well.
I'm really looking forward to the new suits. Kinda hope we get a respec on the dropsuit command tree since they're doing so much work on it. They mentioned they're looking at making it easier to spec into different things which would be really cool.
Try to kill it all you want CCP, I still <3 my laser.

your too slow and you can still get scanned by proto scanners and you have low HP, you mine as well make a C.KO with some dampeners on it to get the same result
why put armor on a scout, for me the scout is about speed, swap those armor plates for acomplex catalyzers |
