Yes heavy and scout respec, no medium respec.
You chose your medium suit BC of its flavor, or ts opness. The flavor isn't changing, and if you just wanna switch to the new form suit since its discovered, or the one the number crunchers are thinking will be MST beastly, well sorry, but don't think you should get a respec.

I'd agree with you here, except for if they change the slot layouts and racial bonuses on the Logistic and Assault suits. I picked my suit due to its bonuses and slot layout. I spent WEEKS of saving SP and crunching numbers to figure out the best suit for my play style. Not to mention I'm a hardcore Caldari loyalist and have always wanted to play as a scout. Why shouldn't I get the option to spec into my Caldari Scout suit now that its offered? Before this I was forced into only medium frames if I wanted to stick to my Caldari loyalty. PS; Yes my character is Minmatar. Yes I made a mistake when I created my character. No I didn't realize it until quite a few weeks of grinding SP. Yes I am a moron. Yes CCP refuses to change it for me. No I will not sleep on that dirty rusty Minmatar slave bed.
Well I can understand this. Let me rephrase this a bit. I think only scouts and heavies should get immediate respec, due o their suit restrictions for so long, and so there there is enough players using the new suits to test and get feedback n them, and balance them as needed.
This isn't needed for the medium suits, as there is enough of a play base on most of them to test them and balance them. The issue I see is 10m+ sp players getting respec and dumping all their points into the fotm suits, and creating a game imbalance for 3 months or so, and limiting testing and balancing on the suit changes
So I say leave the medium suits go for now, to insure everyone doesn't just hop to the new form suits. Once all the new suits havebeen appropriately tested and balanced then iI think a global respec should be allowed. This will allow those who didn't run heavies/scouts BC of either pure racial motivation such as you, or they didn't like the flavor on the available selection, WITHOUT causing a game imbalance and limiting testing of the new suits/skills.

For a few months yes, if you want scout 5 that soon sure grind it out. But if you don't want yourself running against an army of form suits, like say proto heavy gallentes with rail rifles (considering current op weapon, projected ehp titan)
And if you had enough sp to just dump into a suit solely for its shaking bonus, I'm sure you have a few suits that you can run in the mean time that will still perform in the role you wanted when you dumped points into it.

Oh I know it could haunt me, and I would deal with it.
I'm worried about the 1/2 the population that will switch to fotm suits, imbalance things, and make balancing all the suits harder n the long run.
And they will, just look at the kill board and see what all the kills come from. Rails and combat rifles. And that was WITHOUT a respec. The imbalance that will result from a full suit respec with so many people crunching numbers? So many corps and players that have, and will jump n the bandwagon?
Yes it sucks that half the player base may very well not be form scrubs, and because of that, they can deal with what happens to them, it will suck for me, plenty of others, but it will not break the game. It will give CCP time to balance the suits and observe how they work, and allow it to be done faster. Perhaps I'm a pessimist, but I loathe to see what happens if everyone gets respec before ***** balanced.

I would prefer everyone be n even footing for awhile then just encouraging further stomps. The player base is stagnant, and giving people access to more opness while nooblets come in with no clue wtf. Going o, or knowing that in order to compete they need to run (insert fotm op build) will just keep it stagnant. The game isn't growing, and without growing it will die.
I understand CCP is huge on loyalty and catering to vets, and I kinda respect that, even as a newberry. But vets don't use aur, they got what they wanted, and will have more of what they want with a full respec before balancing (and the cry for anther respec when shot is balanced). We may lose some vets, but a full respec will just lead to an even more hostile npe, and that might very well put the nails in the coffin.
Not granting a respec will force vets to either use the suits the do have, or spend money to try the ones they don't have sp in to use. It will also mean less broken suits running around so that new players might stick, and then they two will spend our. Economicly, and player base speaking, a full respec will just hurt the game, and none of us want that, even if it does mean we get stuck with suits we don't want for a little while.
