Pretty sure ya'll know about this, CCP.
There you are, flying along, killing the bad guys....
And then you are dead. The dropship explodes and you cannot bail.
This has happened to me several times now, CCP. I AM AWARE OF THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING BLOWN UP QUICKLY AND A BUG, to all you trolls. This is legit.
No, I cannot replicate it reliably, and I do not have film footage. Take my word and the word of other DS pilots, please. It really is happening.
I have invested millions of SP, and need millions more invested. But it's damned hard enough already to make DSs work for you profitably. I don't want to play a game that is literally bugging me to death. It is disheartening and pushes me from wanting to keep playing--please, please fix this.

As far as I know, there could be many ways. You could be hit by a MCC missile, hit some invisible collision such as just exploded vehicles, installations or the place 1m above installations. Are these your case? Or maybe you have hit some invisible collision in certain map? You can pinpoint the map location here if you always explode at the same location.

Heres a quick solution
Make it so you cant die by collision damage in 1 go
I also died going 1 mph in my python so idk. |

Bit funny that your aware of all these anonymous ways for dropships to die but what is being done about it? The obvious solution is give use a notification system of what just hit the dropship. That helps use 2 folds, one we can more clearly tell you what happen and it reduces these thread of I got killed by some mystery thing in the air.
I fly a lot and I do so many times to invisible RDV, MCC Missiles since your camera angle is so bad, the little lamp post by the supply depot, maybe a null cannon. RDV is about the only one that is clear enough that you died from but even then its not 100%. Collision reduction and push off seem sensible or a warning/notification system.

I know exactly what you mean !
I'm a DS pilot at times, And YES! you get a bug that doesn't let you jump off your Drop ship.
It just happens at random times. when your shield and Armour is down and its on fire and you need to bail YOU CANT! |

I'm grateful that you answered, Eddy. However, I can only say that I have not been able to figure out what it is in space or occasion yet. The last one happened without possibility of strike from anything else around me, and if there is a pixel destroying ADSs somewhere on the field, it apparently moves around, or I haven't been able to encounter it in the same place twice.
The solution of being informed of what killed you is the most reasonable one, I think. If I'm wrong and I am simply getting struck down by errant MCC missiles, that sucks but is part of the game. But I know about the null cannon shots and it takes two rail turret shots to bring me down (too fast and I hate it, but still not actually a bug!).

I know, right?! My old Gal ADS could scrape barnacles off the enemy MCC and be fine, but when I respecced into Caldari Pythons, I had no idea that the shields were vulnerable 5000 to anything attached to the ground. Or armored.
Or, you know, not a assault rifle.

It's not just the inability to bail (which I think is unfair anyways, tankers and jeepers don't get to), it's that your dropship just explodes without apparent cause.
