Yeah you're obviously new.
Head over to the feedback/requests section to look at the new stats of the scout suits. CCP isn't looking for flavour of the month - it's trying to avoid that. By adding new suits CCP isn't going "hey guys, spec into this", they're going "for all of you who have been waiting for these suits, you can finally spec into them!". For a lot of people, they won't even think of specing into them. I have many alts that focus on only one aspect of DUST, be in Caldari Assault, Minmatar Logistics, or Gallente dropships. More content is good!
And there's a high possibility that CCP will give us a dropsuit skill point redistribution (at the very least, people are saying) so honestly there's not much to worry about, unless one of them turns out to be OP.

One last thing - skill into what you like, not what fit of the month is. If it's overpowered, it will be brought in line, so don't waste your skill points in something you won't enjoy once it stops being OP.

I still run the same basic amarr fits, just think tactically and all is well - seek cover when scanned, avoid open spaces in case of rail rifles and snipers, beware of the roads when vehicles come. OP is always going to be OP, there's no avoiding it. But 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' is invalidated, because even though they're OP, they can always be beaten. Plus, when they're OP weapon is nerfed, the tears are glorious but whatever suits you, man. Just bear in mind nothing's OP for more than three months.
