As it stands now, it will seem that the assaults and possibly the commando will be more effective with the sniper rifle. Is not the scout suit the best tailored for the sniper rifle, or am I crazy?
The minmataur bonus makes them perfect for cqc, and makes the superior at using KN over any other suit. I would like to other scouts get a bonus to their prefered fighting style as well. The amar should take advantage of one of their weapons, and the gallente should do the same. And obviously I think that the caldari's should be the sniper rifle.
When I look down my scope, all I see are dead people.

It'd be nice if scouts in general had more incentive for using snipers.

The Scout suit is not tailored for the Sniper Rifle. CCP actually showing the benefits of heavy sniping

Amarr scouts are storm troopers. They get in first and strike hard.
If that isn't the role for you, I would suggest another frame. Med frames are the snipers of Dust.

How about we change the sniper rifle mechanic to be less "crouch and camp" in nature.

True, scouts aren't optimal if you want sit still in a beefy suit with as much damage mods as possible, preferably safely behind the redline. ;) |

There should be two variations of scout suits in my opinion, sniper specialist and , for want of a better word, scout specialist. Sniper specialist is pretty obvious, lower chance of being scanned without modules and bonuses to sniper rifles. Scout specialist can be the one with the cloak bonus and bonus to a cqc weapon, maybe dependant on race. By cqc I'm thinking knives, pistols and shotguns. The scout specialist variant would have a built in, short range scanner, say 5 - 10 m maybe, allowing them to sneak in and actually scout for the more heavily armed team members.
Oh, and each race has it's own version of both or could have one or other if that fits their lore better.
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be near the opponents redline than own.

**** no, I refuse to be Caldari and using rails (outside of being in a drone boat that is). i'd rather use a shotty, as well as many other CQ weapons.

The sniper rifle stoped representing scouts when CCP advertised a heavy sniping in 1 of their trailers, so a scout having a bonus to sniping would be out of place. Or at least that is my opinion.

I think the cloak is a big enough bonus to sniping as it is. If you want reduced sway, increased optimalGǪno any bonuses to sniping would make it so boringly easy everyone would do it and say "My K/D is great!"
Correct hit detection/distance rendering issues on the game? Yes, Please!
Bonus it to make it easier or more of a boring pain in the a** than it already is? NO NO NOGǪ.

Eventually I'd like to see at least three light frame specialities: -Scout for intel, ewar (when we get it) and cloaks. -Assassin for specific weapons (shotgun, knives, sniper rifle, scrambler pistol?) and cloaks -Insurgent for equipment/sabotage. |

Lol no.... only suicidal bluberry snipers use scout suit for obvious reasons. Never snipe in a scout suit... you can fit more dammage mods on logi or assault suits of the same tier witout effecting your tank too much.

Really OP? The proto Caldari scout has 4 high slots making it already the most likely choice for stealth snipers. Cloaking will make it even harder to find. The shield tanking nature also means it is far more self sufficient without needing an external or internal repping mechanism. On top of that the increase in scan precision and range means it will be much harder to sneak up on them.
I run an adv Gallente sniper fit, I use stealth to my advantage over high HP. If they know where you are they may not be able to counter you but they can easily avoid you. I prefer to stack profile dampners in the lows and damage mods in the highs, it makes it harder to find me and as long as I see my enemy first I can still get the edge. As far as I can tell the Caldari Scout is going to be the go to suit for stealth snipers, and all Caldari suits (especially heavies) will be the superior snipers.
As a sniper I personally have a problem with people who stack HP on a heavy sniper fit making them nearly unstoppable even from other snipers, the best you can do is scare them off. There's no sport in it, it's clearly just trying to rack up easy kills with no risk. At least when I snipe all it takes is one militia snipe to my head to put me out of commision..... but you have to find me first.

Your gallente tank of choice is stealth, which allows you to still damage mod without sacrifice to your chosen tank. The caldari scout has to directly sacrifice its tank for damage. Everyone knows that you need at least 3 damage mods with the SR to be semi-competitive with the TTK of any other non damage modded weapon. Keeping that in mind, add to the fact the scout has less hp and now will have less dps than assaults with the same setup. Setting up a glass canon fit with a scout makes no sense, since the same setup with the assault is dramatically better.

TTK is an issue, that's why I don't focus on having enough HP to take hits, I focus on never being found. My tiny head and signature means that you have to pretty much know exactly where I am to have a chance of hitting me, which is one of the smallest targets in the game. I don't put on any health modifiers, not even a repper, my tank IS stealth. Stacking armor plates won't save me from a headshot, they'll just slow me down when I have to relocate.
