Its been happening a lot lately. I kill a dude and a split second later I die from the same dude now on his way Down....
Is this a result of latency and how the damage is decided from the perspective of the shooter?
I've noticed that the laggier the games are the more this will happen. Its sad really, it was one of the most annoying problems With KZ2, when both dies, you sort of both lose.
Anyone else experiencing this much lately? Any possibru fixes?

Yeah, happening to me a lot too... I guess play on your home server?
Although since I'm Australian... not gonna happen. Oh well.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.
Just let me get a couple mil more before nerf, CCP!

Exchanging like that happens a lot, mostly with high RoF weapons. Especially the CR's

Problem with server side dog calc.
I found it common on Euro server. i have less lag on american server.
and i'm am in Europe.
Once you try "HMG-FAT" you never get back...

Happens a lot when I encounter another scout with a shotgun. Two shotguns of off and we both die. I find those moments amusing. That and I compare what shotgun each of us used. The winner is the cheaper outfit or the breach because that's just ballsy. |

I do mostly play on my home (EU) server. Many friends have told me lately that its less lag on the US servers, I'll test it.
And whats a "Dog calc"?

You pull the trigger, and your shot is "created" and sent to the server. The server traces a line where your shot should go, and damages whatever gets in the way. If you and your opponent have both sent shot data to the server that hasn't been tracked yet, then one of you can be killed while some of their shots have yet to be processed by the server. When those shots arrive, they get their path traced and have their damage dealt to the target. Even if you're dead already.

Yes it is latency. Damage is dealt server side and not client side. Because of this your bullets may hit him but not immediately do damage and vice-versa.
No you kill this blueberry hacking the CRU we are camping. I already killed the last 2.

This was the second case, but this time the other Scout was lagging a lot: I didn't even see him firing at me, I heard his shots 1~2 seconds later when he was already dead. And I was killed by his ghost...

I kiled a guy yesterday, ran around the corner and got killed roughly 1 second later by the guy, i remember it pretty good because noone was around and my Health started to deplete on its own, then to my surprise that guy killed me from the great beyond.
I was like ....\O_o/

Sometimes, it's just a coincidence that you two fired at the same time.
Other times, it's something else. I remember killing since guy and then 5 shots flew at me from his dead body and almost killed me if I hadn't dodged that last one at the very last second. Left me with 30 armor! |

Yes, i've been meaning to post about this issue as well.
It just goes to show us that CCP has a lot of work to do in order to sort out these performance problems so that we can finally upgrade Dust's status to "Playable".
The PC and SL should fit into the Sidearm slot so it's accessible and practical to carry one.

1) Go to www.pingtest.net 2) Run ping test - you need a ping of no more than 30ms and Jitter of less than 10ms 3) If this is not the case, ensure all connections are secure non frayed etc. 4) Retest - if standings don't improve contact your ISP about poor connection 5) Wait 5 years while ISP gets it's finger out it's backside 6) Enjoy Lag free gaming
Basically all that is happening is what alot of people are dubbing the "curving bullet phenomenon" you are just experiencing it in a different way. You may well kill him first, but the fact that the server doesn't recognize this means it will accept hitscan calls from the dead players weapon, et voila he appears to shoot on or after the moment of death, a dead man's grip if you will.
You will see it the most on automatic weaponry, as my mass driver has never fired after my death.

It happened a few times in the past week or so. It would show on my screen that the Red dot still has 5 armor or some hp left. But on the Kill screen it would show that i killed him first and then he killed me

I wish they'd bring back out that idea they had early on for EVE of using proxies that link with Tranquility to reduce overall latency.

I started using ARR recently and find that if I die firing the gun will spit out 4-5 more rounds as your body falls into Dust |
