I like to think my gun game is at least above average. I use advance ARs on standard frames and still have an overall kdr of like .8 or something. Not stellar, but considering I only started at Christmas, don't run with super squads, and have only started playing during 1.7, so I like to think if my Ar was balanced with the other rifles, and there was no tank spam, I would have a 1 kdr at least.
The main issue is that you can't approach the ground game like other fps games. Sure you have regenerating shields, but I they might as well be swiss cheese and armor is hut or miss on betting repaired without Luigi support.
My tips: 1. Get to cover. A lot of the time I see people die (including myself) because they see an enemy stop in the open and open fire. Problem is, rasberrries rarely travel alone, and even if they are they may have better range, or better gun game as you call it. If yousee an enemy and your oopen get to cover, then fire. If your running and start getting shot, don't stop and spin in a circle trying to find them, get to cover. By the time you find them, your probably dead.
2. Keep moving, always. Between snipers, rail gun tanks, scouts, and assault drop ships, you never know who, what, when, or where from, someone is trying to get a shot on you.
3. Scan your surroundings. Whenever your moving always be sue o randomly check all your surroundings. Even if you don't see someone your cross hairs may ping them and mark them on your mini map for a split second. Unlike in a vehicle, the redberry you don't see, is the one that will kill you.
4. Run ambush. It will such, it will be grueling, it will make you want to rage quit, but nothing improves your gungame more then trying to run solo in ambush. Your reaction times, awareness, and understanding of your weapon will improve drasticly. There is no common fight location, your blueberries can prove even more useless then in Dom and skirm, and the only thing you got is your grit, and the six shooter on your hip.
5. Get use to switching to your side arm. Since I got more use to hot switching my solo/duel game has gotten astonamicly better, and in fire fights it gives you a few seconds extra time to lay down suppression fire while you duck back behind cover to reload.
6. Watch your shields. Unless you have logi support, your goal is to NOT tank with your armor. That's there because you need a buffer when your shields go down. Relying on it to keep you alive during a firefight may let you get 1 or 2 kills, but ukess your being actively repaired, your going to die. Its far more effective to get behind cover when your shields o down then it is to keep firing and hope your armor holds out long enough.
7. Don't chase kills. Most of my own deaths come from the fact that I want the kill. I ignore the tactile situation and charge after an enemy I have almost killed. I usually get the kill, but I also die immediately after, and chances are if I chased them into a pack if either red berries, their getting picked back up, I won't be.
8. Suppressing fire is your god. If your moving across open ground or cover to cover, weather it to be to get to a safer location, or get a better angle/range on the enemy, hip fire at their little red berry heads while you move. You won't kill em, but few players willtake the time to see if the pperson shooting at them is a threat, they will just get their heads down. (Thou sometime it is better to just be line for the next piece of cover}
