When will anti armor become a true class? As it stands it's just an assault dropsuit with a swarm launcher?! Tanks got a huge buff while anti vehicle weapons got nerfed to kingdom come?! And that's just it! The only thing anti armor about the anti armor class is the weapons! There's no anti armor super bonus like logis and assault have?!
I mean it's clear that ccp loves the tankers, and the ground they ride on, but after such a buff don't you guys think it's time for some anti armor attention? Scouts are getting cloaks so they can just dissappear altogether lol! Logis are getting even more bonuses. Anti armor has to pretty much go full hooah on the swarm lauchers, nades and demo, and sidearms to be effective?! You would have to get to atleast 5 mil sp to be sort of effective in squad as a anti armor player?!
It's the most frowned upon class because it's not a class! It's an inconveniencing assortment of weapons that your almost required to spec into to protect your squad from tanks?! Too much sp required to be good, and a waste of sp if you don't go all the way?! All the classes have perks, and rewards for a job well done. Anti armor has no bonus, and no rewards except for the occassional "thank god I got one of the six tanks?!".
Everyone just has an assault fit setup for tank defense?! The true AVer only gets to watch his kdr hit rock bottom?! Even if he's a great AVer! Same with heavies. There almost required to spec into forge guns primarily for the tank, even though they got nerfed smh?! There's no true incentive to grabbing and setting up an anti armor fit. Nothing that makes a player say "man bro that new anti armor dropsuit goes hard!".
Anti armor should have a speed bonus at the very least because THEY'RE CHASING TANKS! The tanks are rediculously fast, dropships just fly to the ceiling and nothing can reach them, and lavs are the only kill guarantee.... +40?! Maybe +90 with the heavy in it if your lucky, but there's no incentive to loading an lav to full capacity because they already have FIVE TANKS and no opposition.
Anti armor doesn't need a weapon dmg buff, maybe +25 range, but more than anything it needs an incentive to use it. Some guys see the tanks in an ambush match, and just say "going afk bro be right back?!". I know you may have wanted more player to use tanks, but instead of giving them lawnmowers, you could've just made an all infantry ambush mode and a tank assault mode. Tanks could have it out there! Skirmish is fine if there's 2 tanks per team not 6 a piece.
It's been requested previously that there should be 2 types of each vehicle allowed in battle for a total of six vehicle per team. 2 HAV, 2 LAV, 2 Dropships. Balance restored ::)
So CCP! Can the Anti Armor get half of the love that you showed the Tanker?

Seriously, where's the Anti Armor weapons pack in the market? An aurum pack of Swarm launchers, Packed AV nades, Forge Gun's, F/45 proximity's, and a new combat rifle style submachine gun that only cost 1,500 isk but wipes out infantry? Call it the "vortex" submachine gun or something! CCP would make a killing with this latest tank buff, and unprepared players who don't have a decent Anti Armor fit setup! The Armored Assault pack is still there months later as if they needed it?! Where's the bombadier pack, or the grenadier pack? Oh wait.... those classes don't exist?! Nothing but booster packs, rail and combat rifles, and vehicle packs?! Tank 514 indeed?!
CCP Wolfman and CCP remnant, I challenge you bro's as you seem to have come up with some pretty awesome ideas in the past!
+1 If you've seen enough of tank ambush!
+1 if you lost 14 wyrikomi's in the last match trying to help your mates!
+1 if your a tanker, and even you shake your head when your team has 6 tanks!
+1 if your whole d*** squad has become 95% anti armor due to not being able to get back into your assault suit because of all the tanks!
+1 if you looked forward to 1.7 and don't know how to feel about the update now!

Grenadier suit with extra grenade damage, bombadier suit has two grenade slot and two equipment slots with only one light weapon slot, or better sidearm damage. How about anti armor dropsuit with not so many low and high slot but two equipment and two grenade slots. One weapon slot to boot. Just primarily explosives.
Check this out:
Grenadier dropsuit: extra grenade dmg bonus, movement and sprint speed bonus( Not scout level by any means, but slightly faster than an assaulter with 2 enhanced plates.)
The two equipment slot are not logi slots! Only one can be used for normal equipment. The other is ONLY EXPLOSIVE! No super logi/grenadier/assault player exploitation?!
Militia 1 low slots 2 high slots 2 equipslots 2 grenade slots 1 light weapon slot
standard 2 low slots 2 high slots 2 equipment slots 2 grenade slots 1 light weapon slot
advanced 2 low slots 3 high slots 2 equipment slots 2 grenade slots 1 light weapon slot
proto 4 high slots 2 low slots 2 equipment slots 2 grenade slots 1 light weapon slot 1 sidearm weapon slot
Just asking for a bit of an edge with the Tanks, and actually giving the Anti Armor class a CLASS! Not wanting to exploit anything or any slots. Any suggestions or fixes welcome. Anything I may have not thought about please add.

Honestly, I dont care about killing the tanks half the time, if i nail them great, if not at least they are out of the way for the moment. I Suicide bomb tanks, Swarm them, Forge them, and even grab a sica and suicide at them with it. you only need 2 guys. About an hour ago my squad of 5 beat out a team full of tanks (2 Madrugars, 3Gunlogi, 1 Sica, 2 soma) and we stomped their asses out with just my buddy on forge and me with a adv swarm. I dont see tanks as problem. plus look at it this way, 1.8 they already said they nerfing tanks so yea just put up with it for a little bit.
Blueberries are delicious and an essential part of my diet ;)

tl;dr Also, currently AV is NOT an assault dropsuit. The AV loadout depends on which vehicle you want to destroy.
Anti-HAV AV is either a scout with REs or a heavy with an FG. There is also the option of MLT fits with LAVs, which is a costly counter if you don't have the LAV BPO. In theory, an assault with a PLC would also work. Damage is too low, though.
Anti-LAV is an assault with a swarmer. Or a bunch of guys with grenades.
Anti-dropship is FG or HAV.
Anyway, anti-LAV combat is almost balanced. The passengers need a bit more protection, because currently they are ridiculously exposed, especially the gunner. The idea with the gunner was likely that he can shoot while driving. Which simply doesn't work with current vehicle physics. And a stationary gunner is a sitting duck.
Anti-dropship is iffy and anti-HAV is... creative. And expensive in either ISK or SP. |

We often forget, in our infinite sp and wisdom, that we WANT new blood in game! Sure me and my squad can bash tanks same as yours, but what about new players who jumps in an ambush only to run into 6 tanks? What about the new guys corp who has 10 people who all run ground? No one should be forced to tank, assault, or otherwise?! We must remember that our new player HAVEN'T been playing since closed beta?!

I agree totally, and that's why i'm proposing this idea. Nothing in game is PRIMARY Anti Armor! Not even Anti Armor! LAV turrets could use a little more base turning speed, but is otherwise balanced. Even if they do bring tanks down a notch this dropsuit class would bring more players back to the game, and more new players! Who wants to keep facing Nyain San every match back to back? Anyone? No?

Read again please. I laid out a floor plan for the suit not to mimic any other class. So explotation wouldn't take place as with the logi and heavies running around with rail rifles exploiting the heavies armor and shields. Heavy weapon slot should be a heavy weapon slot! Hybrid weapon slots should be hybrid weapon slots! Logis should be behind the line, and for the most part they are, but they are also being used as light assaulters with major equipment.
This suit should be geared toward explosives! Explosive weapon damage bonus( mass driver, swarm launcher, flaylock, Av nades, proxies, remotes.)

(note: I hate hybrid heavies, I like using my commando[A class buiilt to run Light weapons] to murder the hell out of armor stacked Hybrids, also i agree with the logi statement) Also thats around what mini commando is fitted to do. it has the explosive damage bonus so it can be geared up for just that honestly, so I guess you can say the mini Commando is your grenadier, plus it has the speed you want and is decently armored. Just no nades.

I think this would be better keeping the two grenade slots but only one slot each for equipment, side arm and light weapon. Including the sidearm affords the player some self defence and limiting the equipment slots avoids another version of psuedo-SlayerLogis. |

Unfortunately, AV nades are not optional after the swarm nerf. |

Limiting pilots to driving and operating the vehicles while requiring a second player to operate their guns would quickly balance out the game. |

Please elaborate. Are you using proto swarms? Can you carry two swarm launchers on a Commando suit? If so, what is your self defence against other infantry? |

Tanks didn't actually have that much going for them for quite awhile. We used to pop em like E. I do agree with you however that proto swarms and AV nades should do more damage than they do. A buff to PROTO I said PROTO AV gear

Im using standard swarms and I can carry 2 proto if i wanted to but i dont waste the isk, and i usually carry 1 swarm and a Toxic AR. and i do just fine 99% of the time.

When you fill up a Tanked LAV with 1 swarm with AV nades and 1 forge as anti armor, I think it would savy. You need to follow the tank to when its hardeners are spent. Thats the way they wanna us to play at least. Does is work in praksis? Tanks are only as hard as their hardeners? |

With the damage bonuses coming to the Commando Suit in 1.8, and of course racial parity with AV, you'll have your AV Class. I don't think we need an entirely new suit to do something that the game is already set up to do. |

An AV Role Bonused suit sounds great and should be one of the first things CCP works on, right after they finish releasing all the other basic racial content the game will be missing after 1.8 i.e. a few more sidearms, racial heavy weapons, Amarr and Minmatar LAVs, HAVs, and dropships, and MAVs for everyone. (I wouldn't hold my breathe for racial aerial vehicles other than dropships until appropriately larger maps are made.)

But would you agree that a player that takes the high risk low reward of running AV, does he not need some type of damage bonus? Maybe a protection or defense bonus? As it stands AV players are on their own are they not? There are no bonuses at all except what exist on assault and commando suits that are for assault not AV.

This is true, but while 3 team members are hunting down a HAV they may never actually take down, they're not battling infantry. But it is a strategy, and I see your point.

You're right that the bonuses mainly apply to Infantry Rifles (my mistake), except for the Min Commando that will get the bonus to explosives as well ( which I'm assuming would also include the Swarm Launcher). So I would suggest (as I have elsewhere) that you change the bonuses to apply to Racial Specialty Weapons and Racial AV. This way, the Commando isn't directly competing with the Assault, and we can have an AV Class. |
