so as a new player, can you explain me what winning is actually good for?
my main goal as new player is getting as many skillpoints per week as possible and not running out of isk, so at some point i can use weapons and equipment that allows me to be usefull. (calling a militia tank may be "cheap", but if you end up with making 2 kills and 90 warpoints and have lost your tank there is a good chance that you have lost more isk then gained, we dont even talk about getting killed in a tank twice)
i still have not completly discovered how skillpoints are distributed, but for isk it seems pretty clear.
1. win or lose seem to make no difference at all. 2. it seems like there is a fixed "pool" of isk given to both teams at the end of each game and that isk pool is divided between all players (mostly) depending on how many warpoints they made.
an example example:
- i had a game were my team got stomped realy bad. i made like 200 warpoints thanks to a drop uplink within our own redline zone, while most of the other guys got 0 warpoints. we have lost that game with i think 0 kills (there were like 10 tanks at the redline border + lots of sniper somewhere). i made 340k isk in thise fight with 0 kills and 200 warpoints.
- the other side, i played in squad with some realy good people andthere was another squad in our team with realy good people. i made 1200 warpoints in this match, thats the best i ever got at that point. the problem was i was only #12 because everyone else made more warpoints. one dude got 3500 and the top player 4100 warpoints.
i got 110k isk out of this match.
those arethe 2 most extrem examples, but all my games so far tell me that this is the way isk are distributed. so if i would play for maximum isk i would not like that my team mates make as much warpoints as i do or even more. actually best would be if i would be the only one to make warpoints. (the best for maximum isk/game)
skill distribution seems to work a bit different, the amount of skillpoints i get stands in no relation to the isk i get afterthe fight.
i got fights with like 50 warpoints at the end ofthe match 15 losses 0 kills, game lost but 5000 skillpoints gained. that example above where i made 340k isk, i got something between 1000 and 2000 skillpoints out of that fight.
i suspect that actual combat stats like damage taken and damage dealt and such stuff may play a role for skillpoints. the more i shoot and the more people shoot at me the more skillpoints. games where i used and lost multiple tanks were so far the games with most skillpoints. i cant tell if winning or loosing a game have any impact on skillpoints gained.
so again. if i, as a new player, join a random game alone, why does it matter to me if we win or loose the game? (aside from the fact that i couldnt do **** the first weeks towards winning a game). |
