You can thank that one merc who started this crap for bringing about complaint that is minor and utterly idiotic to complain about.
He's referring to me and my thread, of course. Dude, you really can't be so terrified of change all the time. I mean, you call others children, but I think saying "This is what I'm used to so this is what it must be forever and always" is kinda childish. Anyway, since you're making the same points here as before, allow me to counter them:
Other games can do whatever they want, but this isn't other games, this is Dust. It's mechanics should be based on whatever works best for Dust. Using established conventions for familiarity is fine, but knowledge of other games' mechanics should never be a prerequisite to play this one. That is terrible game design.

Really man, really? Again, I don't think a person who talks like this has the right to be calling anyone else immature. Just saying.
To the OP, let's maybe keep reload animations....yea. But how about just like, make them make sense? So they can't be magically skipped partway through. Or even better, where the animation is progressive (i.e. you pull the mag out then cancel, when you start reloading again you don't have to watch the animation of pulling another mag out).

And yes, I have...You drop stuff
I think you might misunderstand. You see, if during the reload animation you sprint just after your character puts the new magazine in the gun, the rest of the animation is skipped and your gun is counted as reloaded. I don't even like when people call this a reload cancel, because it's really not. It's a reload skip.
