I know this topic has been touched before but I'm not sure if it was really clear to me. Please correct me if I'm wrong but what affects Nova Knife damage is the "Sidearm Damage Modifier" when you use the "R1" button to charge and swing. If you use the "R3" button which takes a normal melee swing than you do not get any benefit from the "Sidearm Damage Modifier"?
On the other hand if you put skills into melee damage and used "Myofibril Stimulants" you would gain a damage bonus for the "R3" melee attack and not the "R1" charged attack?
Can anyone confirm whether the regular melee attack with Nova Knives can be as effective if not more than the charged knife attack when fully skilled? You would think since you can sprint and then do a regular melee attack vs a charged it may be more favorable.
Can you be skilled and deadly enough to take on an opponent one on one with the knives when not sneaking up on them?
I know this gameplay is rare and for the few but its the gameplay that interests me the most. |

Sidearm mods affect the knives, which are better than your melee (if you have advanced or proto).
That's all you need to know.
Edit: Yes. You can be deadly one on one. I've killed several knifers in a showdown. Some basic, some proto. As long as I land 1 half charged swipe, they're dead. |

the regular r3 mele attack uses your suits mele damage profile NOT the nova knife damage.....
if you use knives dont bother using mele attacks as you would be better off with another weapon in your sidearm slot and it would do the same damage.
the ONLY damage the knova knives themselves do are from the r1 button |

Also, what's the dmg for full charge?

I've heard a full charge is double damage. Don't forget you have two knives and if both land they each cause their own damage. The amount listed is one blade.
