Its kind of a rip off from Black Ops, but I don't think anyone would care. We could have section in the battle finder where we could choose from a selection of contracts and gain rewards for completing them. CCP seems to be able to track our stats easily. In stead of devising lack luster events that everyone hates, we could purchase the contracts that apply to our play styles.
Example: For 23000 isk you could purchas a contract to destroy 15 Gunnlogi and receive 10 Grimlock FGs. or 14000 isk you could buy the Cap or recap 5 null cannons and receive 1000SP contract.
With the lack of PvE this would help with the monotony that dust has become. It could serve as a tutorial for new mercenaries by creating training contracts. Veterans could accept elite contracts. As long as the risk matched the reward I believe it would make this game better.
Another type of contract I had thought of was progressive contracts. All who purchase these super elite contracts(all kinds of hoops to jump thru) would also receive the isk already paid to purchase the contract plus some of the loot lost trying to achieve it.
Yeah I'm bored. Any thoughts? Please god no.
I hope CCP never makes this game that damn "arcadey"

Why the hell would the Gurista's care about you or put up materials for you to use? You forget they are pirates and don't care for anybody but themselves.
I do not want Dust to turn into a game where you can supply yourself fits and material by completing CoD Style weapons challenges so arbitrary in nature and so poorly justified by lore that we see the cold, hard, brutal, and generally dark part of new eden fall by the way side.
New Eden should never be a place where you are given anything, you need to earn it.

I consider it a run off mechanic from EVE where destroying certain in game vessels nets you components of those ships.
If dust could implement salvage in a meaningful manner.....that would be more that acceptable.
However challenge based rewards are not in keeping with EVE, Dust 514's progenitor, and should not be implemented in Dust 514 without a significantly well thought out and meaningful mechanic.

Darken-Soul wrote:@^ what about the missions you get from agents in eve. I am asking for almost exactly this.
Then I misread. This should be relegated to ones performance in game in PVE modes where you are randomly allotted loot for your actions, destroying enemies, structures, objectives/hives....
Not in PvP....ever.

Have you not met the flight school attendants in PvP? We already have people doing their own "contracts" by trying to learn the dropship or going full nova knife. Those don't even contribute to the battle.
That's your choice. Its should not be an in game mechanic. Do what you want beyond the basics of the game, but don't incorporate bullshit like that into core gameplay.
