I don't support a Dropsuit Command respec.
I do support a full, final respec once all basic racial gear (dropsuits, vehicles (ground and air), and weapons) are in the game.
And more to your OP, we not only need Amarr and Minmatar LAVs and HAVs, but also four racial MAVs. As a side note, I would like to see the old Logi LAV fall to MAVs. I feel like that mirrors the cruiser sized Logis in EVE nicely.

Only new content after this infantry revamp? Here's some basic, delayed content we're still missing if 1.8 introduces all the racial dropsuits and the MAGSEC SMG and Ion Pistol.

All four racial light and heavy Aircraft
Amarr and Minmatar small and large turrets, plus a second type of missile launcher
Missing most racial short and long range heavy weapons

Missing all(most, if you count the scanner and scan mods - I don't) racial EWAR
That's the BASIC content that DUST should have launched with (with the exception of maybe EWAR.) Everything after that would be new, like features to further integrate EVE and DUST, new roles bonused suits and vehicles, new weapons, new game modes, etc.

This bit right here tells me that you don't get it. Sure this is CCP's first FPS, but you can't ignore the tremendous experience they've gained over ten years of developing EVE. That experience points to the fact that Amarr and Minmatar vehicles (in addition to everything else I listed) are a no brainer, and would include a spread of classes from Light, Medium, and Heavy.
What I've listed is not "new content." It's basic content that has been delayed. New content would be a Black Ops or Marauder HAV (Anyone remember those?) or other new role bonused suits/vehicles. The Amarr and Minmatar equivalents of the Soma and Sica are NOT new content, they are delayed content.
DUST has been available to the public and accepting payments for products for over a year now. "save if you see something you want" is not a valid answer and points to your shortsightedness.
To say it again, and this is absolutely correct, CCP needs to get basic racial suits, ground and air vehicles, and handheld and vehicle weapons in game ASAP. When they do that, there needs to be a full respec, and that will be the last respec. This is the only correct way to go.
