The Gallery should get either a deployable drone that provides bonuses to scan/stealth/tank/logistics (healing)/ or damage. Every race would get these also but the Gallente would get bonuses to their usage. Or deployable point defense turrets. Either way this would be a fun new addition to the game. |

Most Hp armor ? LoL. Once plates are stacked almost all race exept calda can havem ore armor Hp than Amarr because they have less modules. And 30 more base hp don't change anything. |

Great post and should have glue applied.
Must be a common thing that the lore is now being brought in to support arguments or expand understanding of the philosophies of each of the empires. Seems to me that many peoples reasons for having X buffed while Z nerfed don't come from an understanding of the lore of the Eve universe but what benefits them directly.
Dust's NPE has been very poor in explaining all this and CCP have been guilty of just 'assuming' Dust players would look it all up. They do assuming a lot do CCP...
My main concern that with the new focus and realignment to established New Eden lore, players can't spend earned SP on setting up their mercs on the same lines.
I hope that the CPM are pushing for a weapon and suit respec. There must be hundreds of players with maxed out AR skills and wanting all those points back to get the full benefits of a Cadari Commando using Rail Rifles instead, now that the option is finally here. That's just one example I can think off.
Does seem that Gallante are going to get the short end until CCP decide how they're going to compensate the Federations ground forces for the lack of drone support that their space born brethren rely on.

Because the missile has crap for range vs. survivability of the tank and the designs of the map. Why is a madrugar a better tank with missiles and rail? Actually, why can a Gal tank fit a missile or rail turret so easily AND a good defense AND damage mods?
Even at range a gunnlogi loses to a madrugar due to taking more damage through the hardeners.
Intel warfare? Where did that come from? Oh, I guess other races can't do intel on the battefield. Oh, wait a minute! We're mercs and field various races on one team.
So, yeah, intel warfare just doesn't apply nor help shields stay up in an FPS game. That doesn't work well for EVE either since it's the players and not the fictitious Caldari people doing the intelling.
OMG! Why do my shields suck? Oh yeah, I'm not using enough intel.
Gunnlogi missile will beat any madrugar 90% of the time, unless you are being outplayed. Gunnlogi rail > all

From EVE perspective, IWS is 100% right. All Caldari ships have the lowest base speeds within their ship's class. What "saves the day" for Caldari is the fact that they are shield tankers, so they don't need to further gimp their speed with armor plates.
Taking into account ship's base stats combined with the fact how they are usually tanked, fitted and flown, speed of EVE's ships would be (slowest to fastest) Amarr-Caldari-Gallente-Minmatar.
However, there are more than a few exceptions to this "rule", so this is by no means something that has to be taken as carved in stone.

Anyways, yeah this was extremely helpful. I kinda knew most of this already but people constantly suggested we should have "exceptions" and so a brief thread like this was needed. There are always exceptions and these are just generalizations. The assault rifle variant concept is a good example of this of one race attempting to copy the styles of the others but not being quite as successful. Don't speak about the AR It has the lowest DPS right now despite the fact that it should. But yeah, I mean major exceptions are the issue here. Amarr should have a focus on Armor Tanking with their suits. I can take the Armor Rep bonus for them because it'll help even out things in the end and plus an Amarr assault would probably only use 1 rep anyway.
Amarr don't typically have great reps in my experience. Our ships tend to have bonuses to Armour resistances, making our ships more solid in combat than most others.
In dust I would love to have the same kinds of bonuses but understand that such bonuses cannot truly have a place in an FPS.

Due to the Caldari long range sensors and weapons and coupled with Gallente tradition of very sort ranged weapons, the Gallente had started to developed sensor dampeners in years past. While not entirely as effective as a sensor jammer, a dampener if deployed right can prevent a Caldari hostile ship form even obtaining a lock to achieve jamming in the first place. Gallente would rather avoid getting shot at in the first place and always have through the use of drones, damps, high damage and high speed. A heavy ewar frigate against a scorpion ewar battleship can sensor damp the crap out of the scorpion denying lock range and speed needed (up to a minute plus to lock the frigate) allowing the rest of the Gallente fleet to move in and go for the kill before the scorpion has a chance to jam.
No lock; no guns. Gallente ships are by shape alone stealthier, more resilient against kinetic damage, and lighter weight on the designs despite the reliance on armor. Caldari cannot afford to armor plate all the sensitive electronics and other high tech amenities on their ship's hulls so shielding was the only option for them.
In earlier days of the empyrean age the Gallente did develop stealth plates which combines the function of signature reduction and added a lower HP value, but due to concord technology proposition laws that would mean the other empires and capsuleers would have access to it and decided against publishing the modules for fleet use and opting to integrate it into their ships instead.

ecm is electronic warfare, yes. but gallente are known for their work in sensors. a suit doesn't have a 'sensor strength' to jam yet, but it does have a passive scanner. remote sensor dampeners in eve shorten locking ranges, or increase locking times.
the scanner fits neatly into gallente's wheelhouse.
but when jamming is introduced... beware. |

* I don't know what you're doing wrong, but I always have a much easier time fitting up a rail Gunnlogi than a rail Madrugar.
* Shield Hardeners are -60%, while Armor is only -40%, so no, shields take less damage through hardeners.
* The Caldari get a lot of bonuses for using Jammers, which makes almost any ship a useless brick. No DUST equivalent yet.
The rest of your post after "Intel Warfare" just seems to be you desperately trying to make some sort of argument that doesn't have anything to do with anything in the post, but attempting...something...by repeating "intel warfare" a lot.

Why would the technology inventors shift paradigms so drastically for infantry?
Because space warfare (like naval warfare) is completely different from ground warfare. Tactics used and circumstances that are apparent are different in space than on the ground.
In space for example, you have no cover when encountering an enemy. On the ground, you have plenty of cover. In space, angles and transversals are important. On the ground, these factors don't have much of an impact in comparison. In space, you have warp. On the ground, you have sprinting and vehicles.

this is DUST, dont unbalance my sh*t brah.
CCP's track record as it fallows:
laser rifle was OP, now its UP Tac ar was OP, now its UP Flaylol was OP, now its UP Massdrivers were OP, now they are UP forge was OP, now its UP Swarms were OP, now they UP Rails guns were UP, now they are OP plasma cannons were UP & still are UP
Stop swinging the pendulum and get a balance already so you can begin to focus on what really matters. Dust & EvE link, p2p market, more game modes, better matchmaking, and the whole big picture that makes DUST so unique.

You probably didn't catch his Eve context. The jack hardly needs to be a "master" if he's hard-countering the only thing you're good at in order to defeat you. Eve-wise the jack tends to win; the "master" succeeds only by very carefully picking his confrontations. |
