I have an addiction to using Proto Items.
I have BPO gear, I have ADV gear, but no matter who I'm fighting I bring out my Proto Scout. Somebody cure my addiction!
Does anyone else have the same problem? I always say to myself "I'm going to farm ISK using BPOs now!" then the next one or two matches I go back into my Proto suit.

But in all seriousness of course people like using the best stuff. I admit ever since I maxed skills for heavy's and made my juggernaught it is hard to use any other heavy configuration, but I find that using ADV gear gets the job done in almost all roles, and lately after running nothing but ADV level gear I think proto is just too pricey for what little extra edge it gives you (which I think is a good thing).
I guess I like to mainly use ADV suits with a mix of all levels of gear as you can find some surprising combinations of stuff. A basic Sentinel with both low slots used for Complex Reactive Armor is surprisingly cheap yet deadly as an example and far better for a "cheap" suit then what you'd normally fill it with.

I have the opposite problem, proto things disgust me, not complex things, only proto.
1.8 it's so secret that nobody know what will be in it, even after patch notes...

I don't use Proto anymore because I can't afford it. After Uprising's release, it only took me a month and a half to blow 150+ mil isk.
Those were dark times for my Heavy... |

I don't I have an acute allergic reaction to Proto level gear, where the most ridiculous things will happen to me in proto equipment like insta kill Rail gun shots to the head, random friendly/enemy dropships falling out of the sky crushing me, the most amazing PLC shot across the map punching a hole in my chest....
in ADV or basic gear I do quite well....
I just have terrible luck.

I blew around ~30mil ISK on Assault Drophips, and now I'm losing a heck load of ISK.
Farming ISK is just too boring, I haven't got a Scout BPO neither.

farming is like work, its boring, this is game use whatever you want, don't worry about ISK its not real money. You don't have a problem. |
