Ok my last noob question of the day. Is there any advantages to joining a corp, like ISK/SP bonuses? Or is it just a clan thing? |

1. You get to meet people who enjoy the same game as you, with similar goals 2. You get to play with the same people regularly, improving your overall performance in game 3. You get the opportunity to participate in the Planetary Conquest 4. You will likely get to enjoy meeting people from Eve, and possibly enjoy watching them destroy your enemies in PC when the orbital comes in 5. You might get a paycheck in game
What will be your legacy? Will you rise, or will you fall?

This is if you join a major corp, mostly. There are taxes some times, but you can play and interact with people you may or may not enjoy more often than if you weren't in their corp.
If you want to play with people you like without paying taxes, you should mail them and ask for their chat room names and passwords if they have one.

This is true, though most corps and alliances have public rooms you can join without a password. Legacy Rising has the following:
LRA Dust Pub (or LRA Dust Public - I'm not sure without checking which is right) B-C-G Pub Open Table
There are more for our member corps but I am at work and can't remember them all. Feel free to squad up with our players.
What will be your legacy? Will you rise, or will you fall?

If you're still learning the ropes of this game, joining a well-established corp is everything. Most people tend to quit this game because of all the confusion, but if you join a good corp, people there can tell you a lot of stuff the game doesn't..

I started a casual corp for my dad and I so that we have an identity in DUST. It's public but we don't advertise, so at present we treat it like a joint savings account. If more of our friends join we'll grow, but we like playing solo or drop-in for the most part.

you don't need a corp unless you wanna do PC battles which consists of laggy maps, uplink spam and people playing extremely dirty and in full proto
You don't need a corp to find friends or to learn, use the squad finder to start, if you have a mic people will notice you, they will invite you to their channels
Corps will try to recruit you, say no and then they will send you an invite to their public corp channel, now you can squad up with them at any time and you don't have to be in their corp.
You don't need a corp to get training, plenty of people in game or on the forums will gladly train you for free, because they like to help and teach.
Go to this chat channel for training, its called " the learning coalition" we run instructional squads all the time
You don't need a corp to enjoy this game, most corps are just ISK farms, they recruit everyone just to mooch off your hard earned ISK.
You will see what I mean, you will have all kinds of people try to recruit you when they don't even know anything about you, they get paid to recruit people, their corp may have nothing to offer you.
Not all corps are like this, there are some good corps out there but they are not gonna recruit you randomly, you will have to seek them out.

So much this.
Anywho, my corp is mainly a bunch of RL friends and surrounding social circle who are in the same corp just to teach the basics faster to new players and to make the game a lot more enjoyable due to playing with friends.
Helps with fun, helps with retention, and best of all I'm the only one who reads the forums so the bitter nut-jobs here don't "taint" everyone, thus forcing us to develop our own opinions instead of mob-mentality of the doom-and-gloom forums.

Since we're talking about corps. I've been around for quite awhile, but never did much corp or squad activity until recently and I have to admit it's pretty fun. What can anyone tell me about the Ahrendee Mercenaries as they were possibly looking at extending me an invitation?
