When in a squad, you get 15-18 points for scanning someone that your squadmate kills When solo, only the player with the scanner can benefit by knowing the enemies location. (no points, less people benefit)
My idea:
Allow a few blueberries to see a few targets you've scanned.
For instance:
I scan 5 reds. The 2 blueberries closest to the reds gets to benefit from my scan by seeing up to 2 of them and I get WP if the bluedot kills them.
OR
I use scanner X, it has scan parameters xyz for my squad and I. It ALSO has 30m scan range, 50 dB scan precision and 3 sec visibility for my TEAM |

Long ago, before scanner were mandatory, your squad could see all the time the enemy you had in range. Old good days

No. When scanners first came out they lit up everyone for everyone to see and it was ridiculous - they are still ridiculously OP with the tiny cool downs and spin scan capability.
If you want your scanning to be more useful, join a squad, even just a random squad with an empty spot you see when you join the match.

yes, I run solo almost always but I'd like to help us to victory in small ways. For example... I am max skilled in active scanner and can see things when I scan that the other people on my side would benefit from; why not let them see what I see?
Also, why does CCP have such a hard on for squads and playing in a group? I come home from work I want to sit down with a beer and shot some stuff.... I will NEVER join a squad and listen to some 12 year old "rage" about a video game and try to boss me around. Forget it. If they keep balancing the game to favor squads I'll quit and find a game more friendly to solo play. |

As someone already said active scanner are OP as hell, and they are usefull even if you run solo to know whre the enemy is is the key to victory showing this to your squadmates just makes this piece of equipment even more usefull

The reason for said hard on, is that when you play with other people you become part of a community, and this causes less people to leave the game, and more people to stay.
That being said, whenever I play solo (ie: not with my corp or those outside the corp that I know), I squad hop (so that I'm not really playing solo) until I find a squad I like (of people I do not know) and then stick with them. I'd recommend trying that out, it typically tends to lead to more enjoyment while playing, and if you do want squad bonuses while playing "solo" you can still join a squad each match, and then just mute them. |
