I've come across a few instances where remote explosives are unfairly balanced.
1. A scout jumped onto my tank, and I wasn't able to get him off. He layed down a few remote explosives, jumped off, and blew me up. I feel there wasn't anything I could have done.
2. Someone jumps into a crowd of people, laid down a RE, and died. Due to a bug, he was able to detonate it after dying.
3. I turn around a corner, and I die from a RE. A clone was camping the doorway, waiting for someone to come through. It was an extremely tight corridor, so there was no way to avoid the RE. Even if I had a scanner, I still wouldn't have been able to see the RE.
These aren't the only things in the recent ujpdates that need serious rebalancing, and I'm sure people would be happy to share their situations they would find unfair. |

1: Hop out and shoot him or work with your team to keep people away from your tank.
2: You have to be revivable to do this (at least that's what my experience shows), so this may be intentional, like in Predator.
3: If you rush forward without paying attention to your surroundings then you deserve to get blown up.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Did you happen to get the name of that scout? He sounds like he'd make a good squad mate.

I think REs and proxies need to have a faint blinking light to show that they are activated. Nothing too bright to scream RE or proxy, but enough such that someone with careful awareness can spot them before it's too late. Especially in night time maps where they are impossible to see.

They already have a special noise when planted so no there is nothing wrong with them if you die to RE's it is in 9 out of 10 cases your fault. I use them myself and I rarely die to them and everytme I do I know it was my mistake... |

I can often detonate REs after respawning. It is the main reason that I use them. Is that bad? Muhahaha |

the reason why it looked like the guy activated it when he was dead is because of 2 possible reasons
1 the RE have a slight delay from the time i hit the trigger until it explodes 2 i respwaned and hit the trigger
that is the way it has been designed. |

This is a troll thread, right? If not, 1) Don't let them get that close in the first place, or get out of your tank
2) They have a few seconds after they go down to press a button
3) Watch where you're going. It's a fair tactic.
Otherwise- QQ more...

The remote explosives are innovative weapons. That is the original reason of what hooked me to this game.
I feel like so many people expect this game to be a cheap call of duty type game where no tactics are necessary...though with the overuse of tanks, I can see why people think that.
The blowing remote explosives after you've shot me thing is totally fair and balanced to me because as soon as I figure out you're either shooting at me with a modded controller or a gun that out guns me or you do that twitching / strafing crap either by skill or a modded controller I will stop shooting, drop an explosive about the time you kill me and as I am going down, BOOM. You're dead too. You've killed me, but I've killed you too.
You say its not fair but whilst I am laying on the ground its perfectly acceptable to push a distress beacon to let nanite injector carrying medic/logi players know I need help, but I couldn't instead hit a trigger for a remote explosive? Thought so.
I set traps as well....that's my play style. I don't care about getting kills as much as I care about NOT being killed because all of my crap is expensive lol and I kill about my team #WINNING so I will set a trap for you with remote explosives.
In fact....most times, when I hack a CRU...I will run up, drop 2 remote explosives, one per each side of where I am hacking and go to hacking. If you spawn in and see me hacking and go to kill me, I stop hacking, blow the explosive and kill you and myself.
What's the point? I get +50 a kill, you get killed +1 times and you get ZERO kills against me. Sure, I get +1 death, but I killed myself....you get no kill, no war points and get your behind blown off |

What were you doing on for 1, just setting perfectly still? Remotes are hard to use against tanks because they don't immediately stick to the tank. If you're moving there is a good chance remotes, and the scout probably, will just fall off before activation.
2) This isn't a bug, consider it the final action before you die. Activation takes a moment so this helps balance that. If you're really worried just finish off a downed opponent.
3) How do you expect us to use remotes? Take the corner wide and throw in a flux if you're scared...bottlenecks are prime targets for REs. If scanners could see remotes/mines then you just killed the equipment. |
