As a true logibro i understand there is abuse. Eg. caldari logi ck.0 with a sniper rifle and 5 complex damage mods. gallente gk.0 with 5 complex armor mods. I have tried talking to those who abuse them as such but usually get laughed at in response. My request: -remove the ability for logis to equip sniper rifles -limit damage mods to 1 max -limit armor plate mods to 2 max -make all eq slots mandatory True logis will understand and appreciate these changes,slayers will fight it tooth and nail,or suggest unreasonable changes to my request without actually targeting slayers. I would prefer these changes to a full on nerf bat.

It would be easier just to limit all dropsuit modules to 2 max of each. And instead of keeping Logi suits from equiping sniper rifles, lets just remove sniper rifles from the game, its a terrible weapon for terrible people that should not be in a game like dust 514 or any FPS. |

I can understand damage mods but in reality damage mods are just OP. And for armor plates are you going to limit shield mods to? As true logi stacks as much defense as possible because our suits are too expensive and we are huge freaking targets.

I agree with the sentiment. Here is a variation on your theme: - Add a second grenade slot for Assault suits only. - Rename the category. - Move damage mods to this new category.
This small change will provide the following results: - Assaults can still choose to carry two damage Mods, but will have to forgo a grenade to do so. (They could also choose two grenades and no damage mods for that matter.) - Logis can choose one grenade or one damage mod, but not both. - Shield Tankers and Armour Tankers are treated evenly. - Shield, armour and weapon restriction conversations can be left to debate independently.

1: As much as I hate sniper rifles (I'll spend an entire map doing nothing else than gunning for a Thales), I do think they have a purpose in the game. The problem of course is redline sniping, but thats a different story.
2: All this would do is ensure that everyone has the same fit (everyone would fit 1 damage mod, and the rest would be shield mods) rather than allowing people some (albeit limited) individuality in fits.
3: Once again, everyone would fit much more similarly due to lack of options. Perhaps a bit more options exist on the low slots than on the mediums, but reducing the fitting choices, and FORCING people to fit a certain way is bad, mmmkay.
4: All this would do, is force everyone who wants to logislay into fitting 3 of the easiest fitting equipments they can (hello compact nanohive), and would change little. A much more reasonable solution would be to give built in damage bonuses to suits whose key attribute is to be dealing damage (such as commandos, assaults, etc.) while not giving them to logis. This will put the logis at a de facto dissadvantage in being a slayer. If only we knew of a company who would do this.... hmmmm.... (CCP 1.8 Patch Plans )
5: True logis understand that human creativity will allow us to find something that can be abused, and abuse it, until such a date as it is fixed (IE: Until the proposed 1.8 changes go into place, there really is no reason to use an assault suit over a logi suit, and hence the logi slay is born). Artificial limitations are NEVER the answer to the problem, only the symptoms, and if symptom relief is all you are looking for, you are being far too myopic. People will continue to find new things they can break (and they should, to force change from where we are, to where we should be) until the underlying issue is solved. |

(Proto) Sniper Rifles are just silly. (Computer guided) Swarm Launchers can now only lock up to 175m but a Sniper can OHK a sprinting Minmatar Assault suit, with KinCats, from 524m. Uhm, good shot? Something is fishy about that one... And don't try to tell me that guy wasn't well inside the red zone. I'm not sure there's a need for Sniper Rifles anymore since proto Rail Rifles (for example) are already effective past 80m anyway. |

Logistics =/= bad at combat.
The Assault needs better bonuses so that it is clearly better at combat, and the Logis need bonuses that make them the best at using equipment.
The logistics suit still should be able to hold it's own in combat and in a match between an an assault and a logi the Assault should have an advantage but skill should be the deciding factor.
Try to kill it all you want CCP, I still <3 my laser.

Heavily armored means defense,slayer means attack. All logis should be defense oriented.Logis should not be confident enough to even THINK of attacking a point alone. That is the assaults role,slayer logis are phony assaults. Logis should desire group movement over solo actions. But i'll leave the fine print to CCP.
