I've had instances where I've regretted putting SP into something, and now it is just sitting there, unused. I think it would be a good thing to be able to reset your SP once a month, at a 5% retention so that there is a penalty for resetting, and it makes it much simpler and easier for low-level characters to find something they're good at. It would deter vets from resetting due to the 5% they would not get back.
Examples:
1,000,000SP Refunded
950,000SP Total Recieved.
10,000,000SP
9,500,000SP
20,000,000SP
19,000,000SP
The cost for a vet to reset would cost them, at minimum, 1,000,000SP. That is at least two/three weeks of SP farming, therefore it would deter vets from resetting to respecc.
The cost for Newbies would be much lower.
Example:
They just started and played 10 games, earning 5,000SP a game. That's 50,000SP.
500,000 + 50,000 = 550,000.
550,000 - 5% =522,500 |

Durrr: Way too efficient. Something like 50% would be more reasonable (and you shouldn't have to respec everything, just the skills that are no longer "in favor with the Nerf Gods".)
Evil Durrr: Stop whining about respecs, and simply have skillpoints saved up, so that you can be ready to pounce on any new weapons/suits/equipments that become FOTM.

No, no respecs! Well..... one when the placeholders are replaced with what there meant to be. But after that there should be no paid respecs no matter what the cost.
Sorry to sound so sharp. but respects will ruin the game because of the FoTM attitude.

I'd like to see one of two options implemented.
A: An ability to cancel skill points being spent as long as you're in the skill menu. I've lost more than a few points by clicking a little too hastily.
B: A very costly respec. Dust 514 is still largely incomplete, and as often, as rapidly, as severely as it changes, I do think this is a reasonable option, at least for the time being. It should cost a tremendous amount of ISK, or even be an Aurum only option around $20, and, as the OP suggests, come with an SP penalty and a limit on how often it can be done.

Outside of CCP doing major rework to skills I don't think there should be respecs. At any cost.
Try to kill it all you want CCP, I still <3 my laser.

No. No respecs on demand. I will only support respecs due to overhauls like CCP did with the tanks. Beyond that you're just being needy.
