As I understand it, the low time to kill issue we are currently experiencing is a result of a 10% damage increase a while back to help counter broken hitboxes. Since then, hitboxes have been (mostly) fixed, and we still remain with that 10% increase. Theoretically, if we remove that 10%, we should be back to normal (or at least to the point before uprising). |

TTK in this game is too high as it is. Reducing the weapon damage and allowing guys to run around with 800 armor on top of shields is ridiculous All the advanced automatic rifles at the moment average around 330 dps. The average suits tank is about 500. That is about 1.5 seconds, 2 if you are lucky, of time you have to gtfo. A proto shield extender generally gives you another .2 seconds of survivability. With this low TTK, fitting revolves around gank more than tank, which is limiting the potential of the game greatly. The only thing ridiculous here is the TTK.
And before anyone asks, I have tested this out. I spent millions of isk getting ganked on purpose in pub and FW matches alike to find an accurate TTK (after all, accounting for player error on paper can only get you so far, I had to go and test it in the field). If anyone wishes I would gladly redo my trials and produce very similar results.
