If you are doing coverage on the election what about a "would like to see run" section. That way people like me who don't really use the forums (only here as Dust Uni channel mentioned it) can tell the wheat from the chaff? I mean I can't tell who is really a good runner or not. I mean some of the posts are pretty lame but maybe the runner is actually better than it seems from their post?
They are all just names to me making promises. Anyone who might run but isn't yet we should watch out for? Or maybe if a low vote count runner is actually better than a high count runner (friends buffing numbers etc to distort it).

Keep in mind that we will be electing many representatives to CPM1.
Someone said in D Uni that we get 7 representative (or was it 6) Is this likely to be the full list? Seems a bit of a small pool? Is anyone else likely to run? Four of those guys don't even seem to be trying. If this is the best we can do maybe It should be delayed. " of the more voted runners even were in favor of sponsorship from an external gamer site with perks thrown in.. WTH is that! I only just managed to pass my college course on politics and even I know that you don't take 'gifts' no matter how non bias the giver says he is and how he won't be asking for preferential treatment.
Supporting that type of project just shows a clear lack of judgement and actually changed my mind as to who i thought I'd vote for. |

I don't buy that for a second. Taking 'gifts' from en external or interested party even to then pass them on still has a candidate saying he will take payment, in AUR (real cash) no less for his position. These gifts are only passed to him due to his CPM status. Passing it on or not makes no difference. If you are CPM I will give you 'gifts'. This is candidates saying they will accept special treatment.
If a politician took $1000 from Big Oil then passed it to a charity what would the voting base think? If charity is the givers intention he should skip the middleman (CPM). No CPM member should expect or require anything to do the job. Election to the position is the reward.

I would acknowledge I had received it and publicly return it. If return was not possible I would destroy it. If it was anonymous i would contact the police and hand it to them as the source is unknown. Could be drug money for all I know.
Also that's different. This is an open offer of gifts prior to an election. The correct response is "no thank you" |

Nope. I just think it's cool that a game has real players being reps. And the election is an interesting thing to take part in. There isn't much going on with it as you said so I just looked at the recent, and pretty much only posts. When we vote here in the US we do look at everything the candidates say, and this seemed an interesting topic to me. I like impartial reps, and this to me as a warning. but that's just me. I guess others don;t see it that way.
I, personally, get more insight into people from this kind of topic than from the banal promises politicians make. Often the real person is in the side topics, not the campaign itself.
I never really used the forums until the CPM thing was mentioned to me. I like that stuff. the normal QQ is dull. Also you seem to be defending people, which is cool but are you running an impartial thread or not? |

See that's a cool response. You were able to admit that your view has been in some small way altered by what people say even if you think they are too aggressive or disagree with them. You admit that you will display some bias but at the same time do your best to honestly represent the candidates views and do a fair analysis. I can respect and trust in that.

Also i don't have some master plan, I am just trying to take part in my own small way. Us low SP players with no name or rep can dream of being CPM superstars but it'll never happen. So being active and taking part in the election is all I can hope for. I don't think tough questions or a bit of a poke is a bad thing. |
