From what I read, firing doesn't instantly decloak you with every weapon, it just accelerates the drain on the cloak field.
That said, they've confirmed a single Sniper round will break your cloak, so presumably it's at least partly related to damage. I hope Knives let you get a slash with a LITTLE cloak charge still left over. |

I'm sorry, but I don't think invisible instakills are reasonable.
Yes, there is cloak shimmer. Yes, you have to be in melee range. But instantly killing something as knives tend to do and remaining cloaked is silly.

When cloaked, you obviously have no chevron or health bars, but the enemy reticule will flash red if you run past it. - Cloak can be deactivated by selecting it and pressing fire. - Once deactivated or it runs out it will start to recharge. - Firing a weapon while cloaked will rapidly deplete the cloak field (a single shot from a sniper rifle, for instance, will decloak you) - You can only fit one cloak field at a time.

I think you're seriously misreading it. When it says selecting cloak and firing it, it means pressing R1 with the cloak (not the weapon) to deactivate. Not firing the weapon.

It's likely that weapons with variable charge levels will drain the cloak by a larger amount when charged more.
This means the Knives could - on an UNCHARGED slash which won't instakill most targets, keep their cloak, but would probably break stealth to hit full strength. |

I think you're seriously misreading it. When it says selecting cloak from the item wheel and firing it, it means pressing R1 with the cloak (not the weapon) to deactivate. Not firing the weapon. Select cloak from Item wheel, and press R1 (fire) to activate. Select cloak from Item wheel, and press R1 (fire) again to deactivate. Not about firing a weapon. EDIT: This is in response to the part you underlined in Remnant's quote.
I wanted him to read from there down, pretty much any "action" besides switching weapons causes the decloak timer. Even raising a weapon. I am not sure about hacking or accessing supply depots. Sprinting and jumping are the only two things we have left.
I am not sure about melee either, but I think it should decloak.

Looks to me like that last bit of yours is incorrect, based on what CCP wrote.

You are correct, I did misunderstand. CCP was talking about the equipment and I took it wrong.
