For two nights in a row we've taken on the same squad, from the same corp; in both public skirmish matches, we destroyed them on MCC. However, in both matches, this squad drops an orbital within two minutes of game play. Not only that, they do it without ever hacking an objective.
Last night, for example, we held four of the five objectives for 99% of the match (had four of the five within two minutes). Yet this squad got 6 orbitals. What's worse is that their total squad WPs were around 11k.
How do you call in 6 orbitals with 11k squad points? That math doesn't make sense. And, yes, we paid a lot of attention to who was dropping the orbitals because of our experience with this squad two nights ago.
We also had some weird interactions with them when they would cook grenades; they seemed invincible.
I'm not going to call anyone out, but please--for the love of the game--stop trying to figure out how to cheat. Just play the game the "right" way. Please. |

Not a FW, Nav. Pulblic Skirmish.
Bane, I'm not going to name names because these forums are already full of all that crap, even when it's not true. Also, there is always a chance that we're completely wrong in our assumptions. No reason to drag someone through the mud when we're not 100% sure of what truly happened.
That doesn't answer your "why post," though. The reasons I'm posting is to hopefully deter the people that are doing it and to inform the player base--and CCP--that there might be something going on and to pay attention. We already filed a ticket, just to make sure we saw things correctly. |

Kam Elto wrote:you would have to be on the opposing team to know who exactly was in each squad. so your "11K total squad points" is just an assumption. also there's no timer in Skirmish. did you actually use a stopwatch to determine when you reached the two minute mark? not calling you out or anything but strange in game occurrences tend not to be not so strange once you look at all of the factors.
No, great comments and questions, Kam. I know it was around 11k points in their squad because five of them share the same corp tag. Plus, they all ran together. So, I think it's a safe assumption that they were in the same squad. Not only that, but if you added up the top six mercs on their side, which they were the top 5, that's how you get the 11k points. Even if they weren't in the same squad, you can't get the necessary WPs needed for six orbitals.
As for the time, no, I didn't have a stopwatch. It was an agreement from the six of us in squad that it was within about two minutes of the game. We can make a pretty good assumption based on how long it takes us to get to objectives and hack them. In both matches, orbitals were being dropped by the time we successfully hacked multiple objectives, and we sprint to them with fast Scouts. I think 2 minutes is a pretty good estimate.
But, your points bring about exactly why I'm not going to name names. It is always possible we're wrong. |

But, this happened to a squad of mine against STB. I even pulled up a calculator and sure enough they had 2 to many orbitals.
We figured that they rotated squad members in game with teammates to stack their WP up.
And just to clarify, this was in a pub skirmish and they were all warbarge strikes by the same guy.
8213, what do you mean rotate squad members in game? |

If a player leaves a squad mid-game, their WP sticks to that squad. If a blueberry fills that vacant spot, their WP gets massed into the squad total. You can have the WP of more than just the original 6 squad members players under one squad if they rotate out in-game.
So, if one of six moves out and lets a blueberry in, the blueberry's total WPs are added the squad total? What happens if the original one that left comes back in and the blueberry leaves? Would it continue to add his WPs to the squad total, even though they were originally counted?
This might explain a lot. Thanks for sharing, 8213. |

WHATEVER wP the original squad member gained outside of squad stays with him. If he goes back that squad, that WP gained gets added to the squad again{except his original WP that was added in the beginning of the match when he was w/ the squad) Why am I telling people how to exploit? I assume you know of the defend order & repair tool Warbarge Strike farm tactic too?
Yep, getting points for repping the guy that dropped the Orbital. I also heard of people standing near nanohives, cooking grenades, damaging themselves, and then the guy with the defend order is sitting there repairing. Never saw anyone do this one, but I've heard of it. I wouldn't think this would work because I thought you had to take damage from an enemy in order to get points repairing. Or maybe they're just doing it to get the reload points from the nanohive. No idea.
To me, all of these things need to be out in the open so that CCP can figure out a way to remove them. It may take a year, but it's better than having it hidden. For the longest, longest time, we had no idea about equipment spam in PC. Now we understand some of the stuff that happened to us.
I appreciate your openness, 8213. Being in the dark is extremely frustrating. |

damage delt by friendly fire will not give the player healing them wp.
as to the unkillable nade spammer. just gona have to say that's what 14,235 scrubs probly claimed when I killed them. -player most likely has a high ehp suit and was strafing beyond you abilities to track them.
is it op to get guardian points for reping the squad leader when droping an ob, kinda. possible to get an ob just from that, ya. if all 5 guys rep him then he needs 12 kills and boom just got another ob
Good information, Wolfica.
But from the guy that had issues with the grenade thing, the enemy merc was standing completely still while cooking a grenade. I didn't run into this myself. Just something for people to look out for. |
