It's a cool suggestion though - thank you. You could delay the date range. So in January's newsletter, you could give the stats for December for example. I really like the idea of posting stats. Maybe make a "stats box" in the corner. Stats I would like to see would be things like ISK destroyed, # of EVE orbital bombardments in FW, # of PC districts conquered, etc.
A brief FW summary would be cool too. Something like "Minmatar forces pushed hard in the early part of December taking x systems, but we're met with a strong counterpunch as the Amarr forces rallied to the cause in the third week reclaiming x system. Caldari and Galllente forces remain locked in a vicious stalemate and have seen the largest number EVE of orbital strikes to date." It's a totally fictional example, but gives a sense of the tone that would be fun to read.

In James Madison University's newspaper The Breeze, they have a section called "Darts and Pats." It is one of the most loved sections of the paper.
The format is: "A [insert witty statement] dart to [target of dart- not named specifically, but described] from [anonymous description of yourself]"
The same goes for pats. It's a fun way to praise/troll people anonymously. People submit, and CCP would pick the best 3 darts and 3 pats to publish each month. You could rename them to something more lore-specific if that would be more fun.
A Dust example might be something like: "A "thanks for saving me hours of frustration" pat to a certain YouTube dropship tutorial maker , from a new pilot who is significantly less incompetent than before." or "A "thanks for ruining my K/D" dart to the combat rifle, from the Gallente assault suit."
My examples kind of suck, aren't very witty, but hopefully you get the idea of how it would work. I think we could easily come up with 3 darts and 3 pats every month. This would be a lot of fun imo.
