Corrupted Files wrote:So I've had my account for a while but due to being away for 3 weeks at a time for work, and having a family to take care of when I'm home, I haven't really had much time to play. I just recently learned that I had to activate my passive SP gain on this character and thus have lost out on months of passive SP.
How much SP is required to be even moderately competitive, and how does one go about making some money to buy all this expensive gear? I think I have around 600,000 isk right now but any time I run anything that costs me money, I just end up losing it and going negative for cash flow each game.
I've been doing a lot of reading on the skills and I'm thinking that I'm just going to spend points into skills that add stats to all my suits instead of trying to specialize right now, and keep getting my face smashed in in these starter fits to make some money, but its hard to even think of buying something to test when its so expensive and I'm only really earning around 100k per match.
Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you.
(assuming your going minmatar)
don't worry too much, in a few weeks we will get 5x the sp and the sp cap will be 3x so you will earn a lot of sp, but train for what ever you want, IMO i like minmatar and i love my combat rifle so i usually hit-and-run or i kill multpe people in one group before dieing.
you want to train to at least lvl 3 shield extenders, and lvl 3 armor, but also try to get basic kinetics since minmatar are speed and shield tankers with some similar armor since they dual tank.
do your best top at least get an advanced suit, and an advanced or higher weapon even if you wont use prototype (the bonus helps a lot)
like always put skills into core skills like electronics, engineering, and etc.
i have a lot of fun fighting in my minmatar starter frames siince they are decently fast and i change all slots to just shield extenders and i switched the weapon to a combat rifle.
note: skill into what ever you want
if you want to die less then be a logi and skill into rep tools, nanite injecter, and uplinks. they will give you WP easily
since i also use scouts im use to tactics and strategies, so if your a smart player on the battle field and your good at going about the map slightly undetected then it would be good to practice that and it also helps to stick with the team most of the time (unless your being proto stomped)
try to make your fits effective and cheap as possible(at least 10k and under) this way you wont go too isk negative and you will be decently more effective
practice makes perfect and in this game it matters a lot with what your good at so just get use to whatever you do best on the battle field.
