I think it would be kind of interesting if higher tiered equipment (hives and mostly links) had lower dB rating so it would take better scanners to find them. Imagine a sneaky proto link hidden somewhere on an objective that only a proto scanner or eyeballs could find. Might cut down on spam and actually make links a bit more tactical.

Totally agree with this. I really think the difference between uplinks should be spawn time, spawn count, health , and dB rating like this. The fact that one of the main differences is number count is one of the reasons we end up with so much spam.

A system where you got one and maybe at most 2 (for gauged) links and where the links were harder to destroy and harder to spot would lead to much more tactical gameplay.

I hadn't considered this because I was mainly thinking about links.

Exactly. THe only real incentive to upgrade right now is spawn count and timer. I would like to see less priority in spamming links and more in putting them in tactical positions.

lol. You can still lay your scooby snacks for the enemy. You just have to use a scanner or your eyeballs to find the uplink now. Which makes me think. What about a proto link that you could only deploy 1 of that is completely invisible except to a scanner. Hmmmmm.

This needs to happen, but not just for uplinks, but for everything. I usually hid my nanos in odd places so they arn't easy for the enemy to spot. As a scout I rely heavily on the safety net that my repair nanos provide. This is especially true when I am in adv or std suits, as I only have one compact nano, and when it is gone that means a trip to the depot.

I was thinking it wouldn't matter so much for hives but you make a very good point. Even might help snipers too (yikes). I know most of the time I just look for hives when I'm sniper hunting.
