Not a fan of these things. But, I have discovered something, most people that use them, [that I've personally encounter] rely on their scanners to watch there six. And, usually if someone is watching there six, there usually easy to take out. If you can get close enough. With a few remotes cause they're usually packed tight so one or three well placed remotes will make the group go KABLAMO! Forgot the point for a minute, what I'm trying to say is, scanners in my opinion, are CCP's version of psychological torture. Because how many times have you seen that and lost your nerve, your aim suffers, you wish you could BEAT THEM TO DEATH WITH THERE OWN SCANNER? That's my theory. Oh, and people that usually use them cant hit the broad side of a barn and cant live without their scanner. And get pissed on NERF THE SCANNER threads. You know who you are.
Your Theory's?
Your Welcome.

EDIT Suggestion, get rid of them completely and give them there sp back they serve no purpose but wearing down players situational awareness and something else for people to spam. That was range amps I think that's what there called and precision enhancement is for. And there is no need to know where every single enemy is the entire time your paying. Your Welcome. very bad troll post. while your busy running around like a headless chicken the scan users are getting everything done. people who are smart use the scanners. idiots like you poke fun at them and accomplish nothing.
If I'm such an idiot why you'd take the time to comment? Your just mad you can't live without yours so **** off. I have a right to my opinion.

But really what you say is only half true. People with scanners "seek" and destroy. If they see someone light up we will likely chase after them due to being greedy. Often when you get scanned you can just set up a nice little trap for him.(Assuming he is alone) It's a decent enough strategy by all means but it is not the win button like you suggest.
If the player is any good he will never sit still with a scanner. Good players also always watch their back knowing scouts are sneaky little fucks that will nova knife/shotgun you any chance they get.
Someone who makes sense and doesn't call me an idiot. And I do think scanners were a win button, HAVING USED THEM IN THE PAST.

Except an active scan should light up the user just like a submarine doing a ping. Want to run invisible don't use a searchlight.
From an exploit point of view, thy aren't working as intended OR the angle of the scanner is a piece of nonsense fluff. You should only be able to scan the angle or if it is sweepable then it should be proportional to the time spent in that sweep. Remember the orginal radars that only lit up as they swept across the target.
Third issue is SP. Compared with passive scan you get more bang for your buck. It effectively does as much as precision enhancement and range amplification and does it better than both. So it is a scanning skill with a lower perquisite (no electronics needed) that does more (much higher range/area at a better precision) for less cost (1 skill vs 2). Not exactly balanced.

We essentially get a view which is like looking at the world from the inside of a letterbox turned on it's side. Our peripheral vison sucks in this game.
You're seeing the same blindness that would happen without a scanner. You can't turn around all the time - by the time you've turned back again some dude can easily have rounded a corner and just hose you. Which isn't game play anymore than rolling dice and if 10% or lower comes up you just die.
Further you can tell by the mention of a clustered enemy, were talking about people guarding. Guarding, by it's nature, forces the guards into a reactionary stance. Action beats reaction - you're not really wonderfully all that better. The guard you just dropped would likely drop you if you ever did guarding (which most of you don't, as you run off from an objective that has no one on it)
Also some of us (me atleast) have 250ms of latency to get around - when the TTK got lowered, scanners stop the game from sucking (if you want to petition CCP to stop such latency players from playing, okay. Otherwise were part of the player base)
I NEVER SAID I WAS BETTER, why do people keep assuming that? If I'm blind [not hard to do] help me become unblind, because this 'im better than all of you, suck it' is not what im going for. And I am part of the player base.
