As you can see here, CCP plans to release a knife for each race.
That being the case, why not have each Scout suit get a bonus to its faction's knife?

Should really be a different suit type. Brawler maybe? Assassin?
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

I'd rather have a new light specialization for knives and melee weapons, I want scouts to have more generally useful bonuses instead of all getting bonuses that encourage them all into one narrow path.
New light specialization -2 (or 3) sidearm slots -2% sidearm damage per level as role bonus -10% fitting bonus to respective racial knives as racial bonus.

Some of us like to use our scout suits for things other than Nova Knives. Considering that scouts are naturally weak in melee, in fact, some of us have 0 interest in Nova Knives. Bonuses to speed, stealth, shield/armor regen, or accuracy would all be more welcome.
Death is a learning experience. I just wish I wasn't such a slow learner. >.<

Now that is an interesting point.
If they were to do something like the tiericide that's being tossed around, that might actually work.
As an example:
Scout Dropsuit Skill: Ability to use Scout dropsuits, bonus to scan profile
Gallente Scout Specialisation: Ability to use Gallente Scout dropsuits, bonus to hybrid blaster weapons
CQC Proficiency: Bonus to scan range/precision
Sniper Proficiency: Bonus to weapon accuracy, damage, or reload time

I don't want a racial bonus that I dump millions of SP into at proto level to provide me a bonus that I need to be 1 foot away from a merc to use.
Some of us don't want to be pigeon holed into a very specific play style...
I want bonuses that provide improvements to scout attributes to help me craft my play style to my needs.... Scouts should excel at mobility, awareness, assassination and stealth related SKILLS (not stealth related gimmicks, like the LOL logi cloak that is being bantered around). Bonuses along those lines are fine.... but don't give every suit a bonus to a very specific and situational assassination/brawling style.
If scouts have a second racial bonus to extreme CQC racial weaponry, I'm fine with that - but not at the expense of a racial bonus that is useful in a larger number of battlefield situations. |

Again, this is why I also said in a reply that this obsession with only having 2 bonuses per suit isn't helping anything. It means that any bonus forces the suit into a very specific role and discourages creative fitting.

Also, no racial knives.
But considering CCP's list of priorities, I doubt we are going to see racial melee weaponry anytime in the near future.

2 bonuses only "forces" a role onto a suit if the bonuses are constrictive. There are plenty of non-restrictive bonuses that don't pigeon-hole people.
Also, before you try making a suit that uses racial knives, you have to think about the knives themselves. What would be the difference between them to make them non-redundant?
The only thing I can think of for another knife is one that straddles the line between the uncharged and charged damages of the nova knives. You won't have to charge it and will do more than an uncharged nova knife, but will never get the damage of the charged knife. That's a trade-off bonus and would make the knife different.
But that's only 1, and two more would have to be thought of. What else is there for a knife, really?
And @ Krom, I appreciate the effort you put into your post, but I won't ever support giving our futuristic soldiers swords and maces(Khumaak in your post). Knives (or knife-like things like ME's Omnitool) will always have a place because of the utility of it. I don't want this to turn into Medieval:Future Warfare.

The pilot suit is supposed to give your vehicle better module effects, varying from race to race

Yeh I agree they should have a new racial variety scout suits for this purpose so to not give more bonuses to the scout than is needed. These special suits should be black in colour to resemble a ninja: Amarr - Black & Gold Caldari - Black & Blue Gallente - Black & Green Minmatar - Black & Red
Ninja Suit Bonus: +5% to melee and racial knife damage per level Scout Bonus: +2% to kinetic catalyzer module efficacy per level
