To use this dropsuit with low SP investment is to play on hard mode, for that I'll share this fit to ease the pain for new players. Once you have the fit ready to use you should be having higher overall HP than any other reliable STD Medium Dropsuit and good HP recovery. NOTE: Nanocircuitry skill should be maxed out as soon as possible to use the recommended fit
1 Standard rifle (except Scrambler as it takes up too much PG for now) 1 Standard SMG or Scrambler Pistol 1 Allotek Nanohive (R) 3 Basic Armor Plates 1 Basic Shield Extender or Precision Enhancer (I have some skills that reduce CPU taken from adding weapons so I'm not sure you could even fit something on High Slot) 1 Locus Grenade (or Flux if you couldn't fit anything on High Slot)

I think this has a couple problems.
1) Allotek Nanohives (R)? You said low-SP investment. Most proto-logis I know haven't even skilled into those. Not to mention proto gear on a MLT suit is almost suicidal in terms of how much ISK you're going to lose.
2) 3 basic plates... I guess this could be fine, because IIRC the Allotek Hives repair AND resupply, but I'm not going to lie, a Compact is 1/5th the SP investment, and is 5x as useful, thanks to its low CPU/PG cost, it's ability to repair AND resupply, and it's low SP cost and ISK cost.
3) If you replace the Allotek with a Compact, you'll be able to fit ANY rifle you want.
Other than that, this isn't bad for a beginner fit, although you could give it a designated role. Just replace the Allotek Hive with a Compact Hive and you're good to go. :)

A PRO rifle with Compact Nanohive is only good for 3-4 encounters.

Allotek hives are pretty high in SP requirements.
Although it certainly works and I find this quite fun from time to time the allotek hives cost as much SP as a set of ADV gear, which is likely more worth using to newer players.

I find that one set of basic armor plates, one basic armor repair, and one basic reactive plates gives a good balance of tank and regen. |

Alternatively you could squad up with another armor tanker and both run rep tools, and maybe a third guy to run K-2 nanohives. But I agree that for a beginner or low SP fit, armor is the way to go, since basic plates give you so much more HP for the SP investment.
However, the most effective dropsuit recommendation for new players is (unfortunately) the militia or LP tank... |

my thoughts,
1. favorite light weapon 2. forget the sidearm run a basic scanner instead 3. fit your favored combo of plates/armor rep.
this is my favored basic med fitting method because knowing where your enemy is will be crucial while running squishy suits, plus it is my belief that EVERY squad should have at least one scanner at all times.
Have fun out there, and best of luck on the field of battle.
