I'd prefer DEVs to ask for our thoughts via forums, ditching the middleman. No need for CPM in all honesty. Just a bunch of self righteous players I never see in-game.

You all make it sound as though the CPM is just a relay box. The CPM is more than that. What they do is not only relay messages from the community to the DEV's, they also filter out the noise, or garbage posts that make no sense, or otherwise are bad ideas. What makes you think they do nothing? Do you read their weekly progress reports?

Either you have a middle man to help bridge the gap or you let CCP figure that **** out. I for one want an elected middle man because it's too many damn people and ideas for CCP to consider. Plus the CPM likes to talk to us a little more than the Devs and actually will represent us if the majority rally behind an idea, whether it's good or bad. And then there's actually us getting info outta these guys.

Seeing as how CPM like IWS are so bias and garbage as to demand tiericide from CCP whereas no players want it or discuss it except players who have less than 3 million SP...I'd say CPM creates its own trash that they relay to CCP.
Oh and its bias because IWS is a scrubby EVE player who can't save up enough SP at a time to get a proto suit, so he wants to kill every vets reason to play this game so he can finally be anally violated by players with the same meta level as himself.
Seriously, the CPM is WAAYY too bias, much like dust players defending their FOTM, it needs to be abolished so CCP can decide for itself what needs to be done, but I think CCP Rouge already has his priorities straight for dusts development.
Content before balance.
Balance is never ending, content makes a game, and retains and acquires players.
PVE & P2P market are badly needed, mostly PVE.

You honestly think that's going to help? You do know how it was like before the CPM right? Just as bad :I. We still had vehicle and AV balancing issues then among other things. CCP had to go out themselves and listen to a constantly changing player base that QQs mostly for irrational reasons. Yet you and OP think it'll be better if they constantly sort through the crap, and waste their time when they could have others do it, and build the game off of that? If we have no cohesive ideas, htf are they supposed to give us cohesive mechanics? Further more, you're acting like we will not have the same damn issues. The only thing different is that we have people we can discuss these ideas with in or outside the game and hope they push for us.
It's politics. You could make it so that a million people have their say or you can have elected representatives(Senate and House Representatives, and what should be electoral colleges in America) make a concise platform for these group of people.

If you don't like the current CPM, just vote someone you feel will be useful for the next one. But once the CPM is gone, it wont ever be back. So I vote to keep it.
CCP Shangai would love to scrap the CPM, that's for sure. Then they would continue to ignore the players without anybody being able to call them on it.  |

CPM is a focus group. A common marketing practice and a good one at that. Since its for an MMO and is going to be elected to be that focus group by the players it creates much drama. Just another wonderful facet of new eden.
