The one that has me thinking the most is the Amarr large laser turrets. We know that we will have both pulse and beam variants. But the beam one has me thinking. "Will it melt through any shields surprisingly quick?" "How will it's turn speed be?" I see the dooms days of Caldari Dropships when they are flying around and suddenly a powerful beam destroys it out of nowhere. I can just imagine it.
Now the Minmatar turret I don't know how will that one work. But please speculate to give me an image |

I hope a gatling style, then an Abram's M1 style- not this 'can't look down, only firable at targets from tacnet, zero splash, unable to blah blah' bull, people hear 'artillery' and think 'OP nerf it NOW' Like flaylocks- rocketpistol=OP NERF IT MD-nubetoob NERF IT Smg- spray n pray bullet hose NERF IT
I hope the Min tanks get equal slot layout, and all tanks get 1 extra slot(cal tank 4/2, gal tank 2/4, amarr tank 1/5,min tank 3/3) Cannon similar to railgun- forward facing slow RoF high alpha, fires like flaylock, and has a range of 499m(rails are 600) Autocannon is HMG style or twin 30mm cannon, less DOS than blaster, but still effective against tanks.

Lets talk the past of turrets.
Small blasters and small rails have always been so completely worthless that literally nobody uses them (especially from a dropship, side or front gun).
CCP has made it obvious over the last year that they either are incompetent or intend to have only one viable small turret. If they add 2 ,5 ,16 or more they will all be equally worthless.
There can be only one! |

So pretty much Gallente tanks are done for. Kinda, but not quite: A min tank finds gal tank at 60 meters, starts shooting(damage bonus to armor) means gal rank is dead UNLESS he can find a way to encircle the min tank, like a blaster tank finding a rail tank and outstrafin him.
Now imagine this one- gal tank finds min tank at 110 meters, starts shooting min tank, min tank activetes nitrous, damage mod, and shield hardener and keeps gal tank at 130 meters(just outside of effective i beleive) gal tank loses due to being outranged.
And then the inffamous anti infantry- min will have higher ROF, but lots less damage per shot. Meaning you can't just place 2 shots and kill that militia frame, you need 5 or 6, meaning lot's more wasted ammo if Cone Of Fire is also implemented(this also means you can't shoot a gal-tank from excessive range and 'snipe' them like blasters, however you could still attack from 10 or so meters outside of gal optimal. Gallente tanks would still maintain higher DPS, along with turn rate, at the expense of lower attack range. Min gains range, and (maybe) burst DPS, at expense of sustained DPS, ammo efficiency, and turret turn rate.

You guys and your blasters. They are anti infantry not anti vehicle turrets. Soon the gallente will have an anti vehicle turret. I'm thinking it pulls up to a tank and just hurls plasma at it then takes off

Amarr small turret is pulse Amarr large turret is beam
Or both could have variants
Pulse is less accurate more DPS Beam is highly accurate less dps
Beam turrets better for AV Pulse turrets better for AP
Minmatar, we have projectils so we can say, two turrets
Artillery turrets and autocannon turrets
Minmatar small turret has only autocannon variant Minmatar large turret has artillery and autocannon
Artillery - low accuracy (projectile goes faster than a plasma cannon round, moderate rate of fire high splash high damage. Primary focus : clearing out hordes of infantry. AV aswell, requires high accuracy which makes it balanced.
Autocannon - dual turrets on the large (like large missile turrets) small turrets has a single turret graphic (small blasters/railgun/missiles) Primary focus, large dispersion high damage moderate rate of fire.

Before 1.4 blasters and missiles were good, a record of two viable small turrets from May 6th to September 3rd 2013, RIP

The beam turret will depend mostly on it's turning speed. If it has a very high speed then Shield vehicles are ******. Even if it does have a lower DPS it will still eat through shields.
