I've removed them from every single one of my fittings, you should do the same.

Once it gets nerfed you're going to suffer though. Relying so heavily on a piece of equipment that is bound to recieve some kind of nerf is never a good idea.

I still use Active Scanners on one or two of my Scout & MinAssault fittings, but I use the basic ones now so that I can't scan scout suits.

But I rarely, if not never rely on them.

Using them is like using Aim Assist.

You're horrible if you do, and will most likely deny any claims that they're OP. Being able to press one button for 3-5 Seconds, and a-presto, all your enemies appear within 100m of you regardless of walls or height advantage is ridiculous.

Why would it get a nerf? Its useful, is rewarded by skill points, and Scouts can hide from all but one prototype model. I don't quite know how I feel about it being forced into the Gallente 'Logi Toolbelt' (would prefer bonus to rep tools) but I always bring it because I love its ability to corral blueberries into a semblance of teamplay.

I will use it in whatever capacity it evolves to in order to relay as much intel as I can.
Even if they remove the spin, I'm already Galogi, I'll be scanning deeper for longer.

Galente logi suit bonus is going to buff them beyond belief when the full racial suit line up hits. Can't wait.

And yes, doing a quick 360 and having a whole sphere of awareness is extremely lame. Takes a lot out of the game.

I don't hate them. I hate the fact that they are damn hard to counter. With two low slots on my mini suit I have to sacrifice a lot to fit a complex dampner.

 I love active scanners.

Nothing gives away an enemy scout's sneak attack quiet like them using an active scanner. Gives me plenty of warning and lets me get into an optimal defensive position, set up traps, and to generally stay on my toes more-so than usual. Good stuff.

I don't use them anymore, however. I find over reliance on scanners makes you too lax and unprepared for sudden attacks. Just from my experience however.

I'm not a big fan of shouting out to reds "I'M ABOUT TO ATTACK YOU", but I guess they're used so often that frontliners probably ignore the "you have been scanned" warning

Every time I see "You have been scanned" appear on my HUD I look at my radar. I have yet to see anyone reveal themselves while using a scanner. Even if it turns out they're on the other side of a wall and I catch them with the scanner in their hand. They only appear on my radar when I lay eyes on them.

I'm having a hard time believing that the user is revealed at all. I've yet to witness this effect.

The scanners should be changed so that a minimum scan time is required before a red dot shows up on the screen.

In addition to a minimum scan time for a successful scan CCP should implement a system where the scanner has a chance of failure depending on how close the targets signature is to the scanners sensitivity. Sometimes you'd get lucky and sometimes you'd get shot but at least there would be more caution when using a scanner.

This way you couldn't just spin scan and if you do you must deal with a very high possibility that there are invisible enemies around.

Remove "scan attempt prevented" for signatures x amount below the scanner threshold.

 Show false positives.

Create interference when enemies are scanning in the same area.

Allow scanners to paint targets. Lock is lost once a new scan is preformed. This could help bring back squad vision in a more tactical form instead of simply having designated scan spammers.

For the record I love my scanner but its cheap as hell and destroying my awareness on the battlefield. It needs a massive reworking.

I will deny they are OP because I maxed out profile dampening and can dodge the basic ones in an assault suit without fitting any modules. I carry an advanced level one on most of my fits, and still can't pick up the competent scouts or anyone who has a clue how dampeners work.

It's a valid tool, with a valid counter (profile dampeners, for those of you who haven't figured it out) don't cry because you can't adapt to the games mechanics.

I [i]will[/] give you that terrain and wall should have some effect on them, but not a drastic one; something along the lines of the scan precision being reduced based on how much solid material it goes through. That can be factored in without completely changing the system though.
