so as all the pilots know an armor dropship can turn onits hardener and just ram shield ships to kill them without firing a shot.
has this become the main form of anti dropship now? because everyone and their uncle just rams me now if i dont immediatly die to a few shots.
this and redline rails make a python pilots job very very difficult. |

On the subject of ramming...the collision damage is stupid. Sometimes I can slam nose-first into a building at high speed and barely loss any shield; sometimes I tap a pipe and lose everything. I've even had those bloody Swarms, fired at me from the front, swing round to my rear end to detonate and forcibly slam me into a wall.
I'd very much like to see vehicle impact mechanics improved in general... |

Where is the realism crowd?
I thought this makes sense that a large heavy armored vehicle might take less collision damage then a light weight framed ship protected by an explosion resistant energy shield. |

yes nothing says realisim like an aircraft being able to slam into another at 200kph and not explode |

who cares when you'll die more times to an RDV anyhow. Game is ****. its not hard to not get hit by a dropship. Shoulda seen it coming. Cant "See" rdv's coming when they spawn inside you. |

They should makenit no matter how fast you go without afterburner you dont lose all your hp, max of 50-75% as collision needs to go away when im shielded

It would help to 'see' other Dropships on the radar more than T-minus 0.00000000000000001 seconds before impact...
Stupid low scan radius for everything... |

Stupid low scan radius for everything... Or fix collision so it cant kill you without a AB

i can still count how many times ive died to an RDV....
8
less times then ive been rammed by an incubus who couldnt shoot me down.
also flight mechanics are odd, if you boost with an afterburner you can get above another dropships sight for enough time to scoop in and ram them, unavoidable if done right. |

heh i'll have to try that out some time, but my experience has always been that when two ADS ram each other mid dogfight they both die.
Frankly I hate how easy it is for one dropship to ram another from the sky, and its often the go to tactic for ppl that really get upset at being killed by a dropship, today I spawned into an ambush pulled out my incubus and started harassing some rail tanks that were hoping to dominate the field, I ended up finishing off one of them after he'd had been pushed back, his wingman had also died in a similar fashion and their response was to call in to militia dropships and ram me from the sky.
On another ambush i'd killed a bunch of ppl despite their concerted efforts to knock me from the sky with forge and RDVs dropping off LAVs, one guy calls in a viper flies off into the distance then not long after rams my bank account for another 400k.
The most annoying thing is even if you are a great pilot and hit more often then not you can't put out enough dmg to down another dropship in any reliable fashion, all you can do is try to keep your eye on them and dodge their attempts to ram you, I've found flying through hard to navigate areas tends to cause them to crash but its hardly a reliable tactic, the only one that is reliable is going to your redline and recalling your dropship. |

Actually the reason why forge guns do more damage to armor is because shields resist kinetic energy but lose out to high energy plasma and laser, so collision should do less to shields in fact

I hate F****** aerial ramming, tanks are heavy and brute, ramming on the land is legit. People that use this cheap tactics are only pieces of s**t

i only ram other dropships if they bother me, i can turn on my hardeners then hit my afterburner to slam into the enemy dropship without even losing half my armor most of the time, but like i said i only do it if another ship is just being mildly annoying
most pilots are dumb and when you attempt to have a proper battle with them they just hit R1 to rise all the way to the ceiling to where they hit they ceiling then lose control and flail around uselessly up there trying to regain control which to me is far more obnoxious than ramming
dont try to engage me in a proper ship battle if your just gonna fly away and be even more useless to your team than you already was |

LMAO. When I actually played dust, ramming is what I always did after weekly cap. Red or blue did not matter. There is a sweet spot. Nose to nose does little damage. The belly of the beast. |
