it doesn't make sense to me that personal cloaks would be more efficient than the ship sized ones.
as such surely these personal ones would be dangerous to use both for the enemy and the user.
my suggestion is for them to slowly over time and dependant on factors i will go into below overheat and give off deadly radiation to the user.over time this radiation would eat away at the players shields and armor eventually killing them
the lighter the suit the more efficient the cooling system is of the suit. this would allow the suit to keep the equipment cool and the radiation low i.e not deadly
the heavier the suit is the higher the radiation buildup and the faster it burns through your shields and arm.
fitting plates and extenders increases the heat buildup
scouts would have the lowest heat buildup and the most benefit from cloaks. with a heat reduction passive to scouts they can go without damage at max skill. fitting plates and extenders howether would increase heat buildup which for a scout could be deadly.
lights are the same as scouts but without the passive role bonus to heat reduction
all medium suits would be more succeptible to heat buildup due to heavier passive tank and more plates and extenders would increase the buildup.
to not be completely out of the reach of everyone due to the drawback arm repairers do not add to heat buildup and will rep as per normal buying you time. shield regulators and rechargers will kick in after a 1 sec delay after decloaking.
this gives you 2 options. stay cloaked and die, stay cloaked and take damage but mitigated by repers, take damage but decloak to recharge shields but having a recloak charge timer.

The cloaks the ships use and the cloaks we use are undoubtedly different, you wouldn't take a cloak off a stealth recon ship and pop it on a scout, power resources on our suits couldn't handle it, and the price per suit would be horrific.
Further proof of this is that they run ou, while cloaks on covert ops ships can be run until deactivated.

No. Also why does everyone try to crush my dreams of the PLC being useful as that will require a Gal Commando with PLC, AR, and Cloak
Seasoned players never left academy because it did not exist, that's why we fight alongside and against noobs.

i didn't suggest putting a ship size cloak on a player. the personal ones are probably a few hundred times smaller than the eve ones so a few hundred times smaller pg/cpu requirement so totally plausible you could fit one. being smaller though would likely mean cutting corners and removing parts which couldn't be miniaturized. if we have shooting through cloaks why no shooting through cloaks in eve. if someone managed to create such an advancement they would surely make ship sized ones.
it doesnt make sense to drasticly change the mechanics just because its on a suit and not a ship
ccp with eve had essentially created a science about cloaking what it does and how it works then with dust they make them completely different ignoring every factor about eve cloaks.
eve cloaks are highly stable but restricted yet dust ones are not stable but are far more effective. the whole point of cloaks is about going around unseen but in dust ccp has insisted on making them fotm death dealing must have equipment for all suits.
what's the drawbacks of fitting a cloak:
enemy can't see you unless you move fast - most suits are arm tanked so dont move fast anyway
the cloak dipleats slowly as you fire through it - with ttk so low your not going to be seen because they enemy is going to be dead before he can turn around to see where you are
cpu/pg is going to be high - there are still going to be std-pro versions so they cant make them that high or no one would be able to fit the pro ones especially not scouts. also with the new changes to suits they are testing all cloaks as they have designed them will do is revive the assault logi which the changes are trying to combat.
all the so called drawbacks ccp have added to them are just minor hindrances which can be bypassed quite easily...too easily.
i have no problem with scouts using them but heavily tanked or dmg modded assaults/commandos/logistics with cloaks is going to put the nail in the coffin for this game.
in eve the cloaks are restricted and limit your functionality but the planned dust ones don't do neither.
