Multilaterlism, Imagine if it was frowned upon in the real world like it is in Dust. Imagine if NATO,UN,EU,AU and ASEAN was never made, because it looks cowardly to work with others beside your own.
In the real world there are multiple ways multilaterlism works, but lets focus on the way multilaterlism works in dust. One corp hires people to fight for them, in most cases there are multiple corps fighting against another corp or multiple corps in a single battle. This is one of the amazing things about this game. You can actually reward the people who help you while increasing your corps diplomatic relations with them.
As I have read on the forums of Dust there seems to be not like the idea of multilaterlism in dust.( Can't really find out personal opinions about multilaterlism in the real world through a video game forum ) By now if you don't understand what I am saying here it is. Multilaterlism is a fancy word for hiring ringers. Now I want to see where this hate against the use of multilaterlism comes from, but before I go on I want to explain something about my corp tags. Yes Pradox is known for using multilaterlism, and this is why i am curious about why there is so much hate. I have to ideas why conducting business in molden heath through the the use of multilaterlism is frowned upon.
1. Many of the successful corps came from other video games. Examples : Teamplayers Socom, STB Mag, and RND Mag. I believe this could be one reason why multilaterlism is frowned upon, because there is no risk in loosing. All you gain is bragging rights. If you bring in players from other clans then you have no reason to brag because it wasn't really your power.
2. It looks like you are a coward. You had to hire bodyguards to help keep you safe.
Now I am simply stating a few ideas why multilaterlism is frowned upon in dust. I am very curious why people dislike the uses of multilaterlism or in other words hiring ringers. I am in a corp in that uses multilaterlism often. We do it because we don't have the man power. Multilaterlism can earn you 10% of molden heath one day then loose 6% of your property the next. It is a double edge sword.
Dust bunny! I prefer the term meta-gaming bad a** with a slight hint of the person Samuel L. Jackson wanted to be.

It could be the mindset of "If you want something done right, do it yourself."
We live in a world where people lie, use, backstab, steal from, slander, and murder other people. While there are people that you can trust to ring for you, you can never know that for certain. All you have to rely on is someone's word... and then later their actions.
What happens when the people who ring for you lose in your name? There's always the mindset of, "If we would have played that battle ourselves, would the end result be different?"
It's the same example set in so many different movies. The hero's arch nemesis sets his minions to the task of getting rid of the hero in his earlier weakened state: the character is still developing and growing into the badass he was meant to be. They fail time and time again, giving the hero time to prepare and become strong. If the villain would have just got off his ass and done it himself instead of using other people to do his bidding, he wouldn't have died at the end and there would be no movie. The point of defeating the underdog is not giving him the time to rise; kill the caterpillar before it goes through metamorphosis, breaks from it's cocoon, and becomes a butterfly.
A lot of people don't want to be bothered. They don't want to deal with the bitterness of "what if?"
"If you want something done right, do it yourself."
If you're going to be bad, be bad with a purpose.

did you just list a bunch of world-bank owned military organizations and label them as 'multilateral'? |

I wouldn't recommend demonstrating an advanced understanding of stuff here, I'm being vague but I'm sure you understand. You will get burnt by sub par bull sht and denial.
Edit: advanced here anyway hahaha.

i come from BF3 and if my clan ever brought in ringers to fight are battles we would have been laughed out of the match. So i guess it just my mind state that how could you feel good about a victory that you were not even a part of that you payed someone else to do. But i understand how dust works i think that a lot of people are thinking that holding a little land in PC is all this game is about but what you are missing is the thrill of wining a match together with your friends who you know. Maybe its just me but that's how you build a strong bond in your corp is in the heat of battle and you lose this by paying other people to fight.
