Multilaterlism, Imagine if it was frowned upon in the real world like it is in Dust. Imagine if NATO,UN,EU,AU and ASEAN was never made, because it looks cowardly to work with others beside your own.
In the real world there are multiple ways multilaterlism works, but lets focus on the way multilaterlism works in dust. One corp hires people to fight for them, in most cases there are multiple corps fighting against another corp or multiple corps in a single battle. This is one of the amazing things about this game. You can actually reward the people who help you while increasing your corps diplomatic relations with them.
As I have read on the forums of Dust there seems to be not like the idea of multilaterlism in dust.( Can't really find out personal opinions about multilaterlism in the real world through a video game forum ) By now if you don't understand what I am saying here it is. Multilaterlism is a fancy word for hiring ringers. Now I want to see where this hate against the use of multilaterlism comes from, but before I go on I want to explain something about my corp tags. Yes Pradox is known for using multilaterlism, and this is why i am curious about why there is so much hate. I have to ideas why conducting business in molden heath through the the use of multilaterlism is frowned upon.
1. Many of the successful corps came from other video games. Examples : Teamplayers Socom, STB Mag, and RND Mag. I believe this could be one reason why multilaterlism is frowned upon, because there is no risk in loosing. All you gain is bragging rights. If you bring in players from other clans then you have no reason to brag because it wasn't really your power.
2. It looks like you are a coward. You had to hire bodyguards to help keep you safe.
Now I am simply stating a few ideas why multilaterlism is frowned upon in dust. I am very curious why people dislike the uses of multilaterlism or in other words hiring ringers. I am in a corp in that uses multilaterlism often. We do it because we don't have the man power. Multilaterlism can earn you 10% of molden heath one day then loose 6% of your property the next. It is a double edge sword.
Dust bunny! I prefer the term meta-gaming bad a** with a slight hint of the person Samuel L. Jackson wanted to be.
